The pencil flows very easily across the paper as they write rather than making a slight squeak like some mechanical pencils do. I find they are wanting to write my lists we make around the house and the color variety is a huge bonus. Plus, my son tends to push down hard when he writes and he is able to erase away his mistakes which is huge for us. We love these mechanical pencils.

I love to try new writing items when I find them at the store, as I'm an artist and my oldest daughter is taking after me. She loves doodling so much, It's easier to buy mechanical pencils than replace a pencil sharpener every few months. She requested I continue to buy BICÆ VelocityÆ Mechanical Pencils, as she likes the colors and the thickness of the lead for drawing.

A Superior Writing Instrument!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using BIC mechanical pencils for decades as I have worked my way through innumerable crosswords, cryptograms, and pixel puzzles. Velocity pencils are an improvement on my old standard. They write much darker without pressing hard, they erase cleanly, and they have a good hand feel. They do take some getting used to, as if you are used to bearing down to get darker lines, you end up snapping off the end of the lead. Once I had retrained myself to not press hard, my puzzling went smoothly, as smoothly as the Velocity pencil writes on paper!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are good, well made pencils. They feel great in your hand and not a wimpy, brittle barrel. Lead is easy to replace as are the erasures. Personally I like the side click over the top click, but that is just personal preference. I like the colors, easy to find in my bag or on the desk! My son's like them although they like the top click over the side. All in all they write easily, change the lead easily, they erase well and don't rip the pages. All in all it is good, minus one star because the tops are a little hard to remove.

I'm extremely impressed with the strength of the lead. The lead doesn't just break off while writing. And it doesn't just go back up into the pencil. I especially like the fact that with these pencils you can use the lead until the very last. It doesn't just quit working at half the lead like most mechanical pencils. Very very nice!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With school right around the corner, my son was excited when he saw the BIC Mechanical Pencils in the mail! They come in beautiful colors! So we have been testing these pencils out! I have been using BIC for years and have used a lot of mechanical pencils in my day but these, I have to say are my hands down favorite! They write smoother and the lead is darker. But the fact they have a lot of lead and comes with an extra eraser for all 5 pencils in the package is great, especially when you have a son who can be pretty hard on them! But my favorite thing about these is the built in grip! These mechanical pencils are so easy to hold onto! My son and I will enjoy these! My daughter will also get great use as she in college now! ?
