They write smooth but dark so the lead is easy to see. The Lead is also durable so its not constantly breaking! I love that they offer an easy and pleasant writing experience, they don't need to be sharpened, and that the eraser erases mistakes so well. I home school my daughter who goes through pencils quicker than anyone I know! She loves to have a sharp point and seems to constantly sharpen her typical pencils. These don't require sharpening and she is thrilled with that as well! They always have a sharp point which helps to make her work clear and neatly written. She also loves that they include her favorite color, pink. Overall, we are two happy campers that are thrilled with these BIC pencils! Bravo BIC!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone in my family really loves these awesome BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils! They are so cute in 5 bright colors and erase with ease! The lead is strong and doesn't break, it writes dark and consistent. I haven't seen my kids excited to write and draw in a long time until I showed them these pencils! They immediately wanted to get some paper and start writing letters to family out of town and draw some pictures! I highly recommend these pencils they blow any and all competition? out of the water!

I've already purchased two more packs since school started so he can have a spare set at home. He writes rhymes in his spare time, and he loves how neatly these mechanical pencils write and erase compared to some other brands. He lives they come in cool colors (he believes blue is his lucky color) so, he can feel confident in the rhymes he writes with the blue pencils.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter absolutely loves these pencils, and so do I. The pencil has a smooth grip which makes writing easy, and the lead is medium thickness (0.7mm) which allows for less lead breaking. The packages come with extra lead and extra erasers, which is sooo convenient. No more trips to the pencil sharpener at school! My child is a third grader and this pencil is excellent for those beginning to hone in on their penmanship skills. She loves to write with these pencils and I'm happy that they are of great quality. It's a win win for both of us. When I was younger, I used to write with the regular BIC mechanical pencils, as these new Velocity pencils outshine the old ones by far. They write just like a pen, but it's a pencil and is erasable! We are very happy with these pencils, and recommend them for students of all ages as well as anyone who likes to write.

When opening my package, I first noticed the coloring and shape of the pencils. They are are very brightly colored to make writing even more fun! The shape of these pencils are unique also which made it a lot easier on my hands as I was writing with them which made writing way more enjoyable. What I liked best is that usually with any other pencil my hand would cramp up and/or get so sore I'd have to take a break but that definitely wasn't the case here. With BIC Velocity I was able to effortlessly zoom through my work. Which made it even better that the eraser worked so well, it didn't leave any smudged black spots or rip my papers!
