Doesn't stick to any boxes. Is there glue on it?

Bought a three pack after my heavy duty ran out. Getting ready to move some thing to my business. I can't get the stuff to stick to cardboard moving boxes. It peels right off like there isn't any glue on the tape. It's terrible. It also falls off as you're moving packed boxes. I don't know if I received a lemon batch, but it's bad. Going back to heavy duty or possibly another brand. I have no confidence this will secure a small box of books. Save it for your doll collections

Horrible!!!

This tape does not stick and I do not trust it enough to send packages through the mail. The tape easily lifts off the roll sure enough, but once on the package it easily lifts off the package. The tape is unfortunately, quite useless for mailing packages and I couldn't imaging that it would be useful for anything....maybe Christmas wrapping paper.

Waste of money and time

Bought this tape in a 3 roll pack. Sorry now that i did. Not sticky enough, useless as a packaging tape. Worst feature is how easy tape comes off the roll. Picked it up and about 20 feet of tape on the floor as it rolled away.Had to buy different tape to complete the packing job. Stay away. You have been warned.Would have rated zero stars if possible.

Works well on plastic, not so well on cardboard

I was also frustrated with this tape. Even though it says Shipping/Packaging tape, don't buy it (model 3450 tape) for paper or cardboard envelopes or boxes. It doesn't stay in place. It is very suitable to use on plastic packages.
For boxes, use model 3650 tape (Long Lasting Storage Packing tape). The 3650 tape is much stickier and never falls off of boxes.
My complaint to 3M is that they make many types of tape, and it's hard to tell which is suitable for which use. Even if you are just looking for packing tape.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The tape slips off the roll, wasting quite a bit. It does not stay on the roll, but rather slips off, and goes off track, making my packages look like a blind monkey taped it. I have never had a problem with Office depot brand tape.

Thick but no Stick

Bought this from Walmart home delivery with grocery's. It barely sticks to standard cardboard boxes. I can remove it easily from a box without tearing a layer of cardboard that you would expect. Worked for a wholesale distributor of construction supplies so was around packaging tape for 20 yrs there and have used packaging tapes all thru my life and I'm 65 now. Never seen anything like this tape... Clear to the core I guess because not much stickum.

Sure, it starts...

As advertised, this tape starts easily. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing I can say about it. It sticks very poorly, rendering it almost useless as shipping tape. It also cuts very poorly using a standard shipping tape dispenser, perhaps because it comes off the roll so easily and thus doesn't provide enough tension for the dispenser to work. Ultimately, I'm extremely dissatisfied with this product.

I SURE love this Tape

I love this sure start tape. It is easy to use and sticks well. A few times I had to go the the library to print shipping labels as my printer was not working. When I used a different 3M Scotch tape I was told I was making too much noise inside the library.
This tape is great for packages and shipping labels. I only wish I could still find it in the 22.2 yd size
