Really not that great...

A gel pen can do the same thing. This only applies foil in a thin line, and the line is not as clean as you would hope for. I had skips in the foil, ultimately ruining my project. In addition, the foil provided is only 6\" by 4\". The Cricut mat is 6.5\" by 4.5\"! So to tape your foil down, you have to put the tape onto your project. This could ruin some projects. Makes no sense why they would provide foil smaller than the cut mat area. I'm going to keep trying to finesse it into working, but it really shouldn't require finessing.

Easy to use, but could be better

I never intended to buy the foiling kit, but then everything here went on super sale, and I figured the price was law enough to at least give it a shot -- and I'm glad I did. It's super easy to use the foiling tool, and it really dresses up the already pretty cut-out cards I'm making. My only issue is that Cricut provides no way to keep the foil transfer sheet in place -- you have to tape it down. And that's quite the challenge when you're halfway through a job and the tool clamp/holder is in the way. I wish Cricut would come up with a better procedure for this - or at least provide a way for me to get that tool clamp out of the way temporarily, so I can put the tape in place.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Waste of Money Do not Buy...

You can't even foil the whole words.. so if you have a nice script it will only outline and not fill the middle... they fixed this issue with the markers but the foil is SOL... Basically a useless product without the ability to use it how anyone would... Product and Development really missed the mark on this one......

This works really well! I do think the foil line could be thicker for a more defined etch, but this is nothing I cannot live without. Another great Cricut toy!

The tool itself works very well just like the one for the larger machines. Disappointed that it only comes with 1 tip and not the different foil thickness tips like the other machines set.
