[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Pick Me Up Provisions Colombian Blend Medium Roast K-cups through the Stellar Product Testing Panel for review. The thoughts presented here are my honest personal opinions. I assigned this coffee 4 of 5 stars because I think that it is a solid coffee for first thing in the morning. The flavor is light with a fruity bright undertone to it that is more akin to a lighter roast than a true medium roast. The color is a lighter brown than the medium roast I usually use from San Francisco Bay Coffee. The flavor remained nice and bright with a bit of fresh half-and-half and no sugar. I generally prefer my coffees a bit darker and richer on the medium to medium-dark side so I wouldn't reach for this one as my go-to coffee based on personal preference. If you prefer the more acidic light coffees (think more on the side of blonde roast at Starbucks) you may enjoy these more than I did. Also as a personal preference it irks me that the packaging trumpets that these K-cups are recyclable when that is usually not the case. You have to peel the foil off empty the K-cups out and rinse them and even then most neighborhood recycling facilities can't accept them. This kind of marketing is deceptive but very common among K-cup manufacturers so it's not just Pick Me Up Provisions doing it. I think that it does send a mixed signal when the company is also talking about responsible sourcing and sustainability.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Right off the bat the K-Cups had a very strong smell while brewing and it was the perfect scent to wake up to and know that I was about to have some delicious full flavor coffee! It smelled delicious while brewing and I prepared mine over ice. This was my first time having tried this flavor and I really enjoyed it. It was rich and felt bright and like a perfect cup for my morning iced coffee. I felt like the quality was high and the coffee had a good flavor and tasted as if I had ordered my own cup somewhere! I love using the K cups because it’s convenient to pop it in press the button and have delicious coffee brewing in seconds. I like that I don’t have to prepare anything but pull out a K-Cup from the cabinet. I feel that it’s also convenient to dump them out and recycle. This design I feel saves me from having so much waste and I’m able to recycle the cups so I really love this! I like the flavor and how strong it was for my personal coffee tastes. I feel like it had a good depth of flavor and was balanced out with me adding cream to it. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to try Colombian coffee that is labeled as gourmet. Because I think it is completely worth it and your taste buds will thank you! Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for sending me some delicious coffee to try for free. This sure did spice up my mornings!
I recently bought for the first time a 24 pack of Staples new line of Kcups - the Pick Me Up Columbian pods. Not only was the price reasonable (cheaper than most brands!) but the taste is great - I have had several cups. Recommended!
The coffee is very good and the price is cheap. The price will probably go up soon when the coffee becomes more popular but for now it's definitely worth the price.
My wife likes it. The price is right. However a recurring problem with my local Staples is that they do not pull out-of-date coffee from the shelf. Be sure to check the date before purchase.
