After the initial scratchiness of the point and the outpouring of the ink in great amounts the pen softened some in both areas! Still trying to get use to it. At this time I would say the pen needed to be used a little more to consider an exciting gift for others to purchase!

I am a long time fan of PaperMate pens especially InkGel. An associate offered help as I was trying to decide which PaperMate I would purchase. He explained why the Tru Reds were developed offered me a trial use and I was hooked. They are truly as good as a PaperMate and SOOO much cheaper! I bought 2 colors and will go back for purple as I like fun pens/colors. Way to go Staples!
