They are acceptable after the ink which accumulates on the tip is wiped off. I am used to a finer point but these will be OK. While these are acceptable I will buy a different brand and point size in the future.
I was looking for gel pens to use and came across the Tru Red during a store visit. I didn't know that Staples came up with a new brand. I bought a first set of gel pens to test it out. The gel pens are great. The ink dries quickly and the writing is smooth. I have not experienced any dryness from the pen. In addition since it is a great gel pens I bought 4 more packs of it. I often use Pentel Energel Pens but it is quite expensive. Now with the Tru Red gel pens it is a good alternative for me to choose to buy.
First of all I'm a little bit of a stationary geek and I've tried a LOT of pens in my life but these pens really surprised me. They are as close to perfection as you can get. They are very comfortable to hold. The ink comes out smoothly - not too much but not too little either so it doesn't skip even when I write or sign really fast on purpose. The crazy thing is they make me automatically switch to my cursive mode and write really nicely even though I haven't written in cursive since high school. The only pens that can compare to these and are actually a tad better in my opinion are the TRU RED pens with the cap (instead of the retractable version). Those have a little bigger barrel and are more comfortable for my hand if I have to take notes for 2 hours straight like I used to in college. But the retractable pens are more convenient to keep on me. The TRU RED line of pens really amazed me and especially at this price point I think there are no competitors to these pens.
