I don't drink coffee myself but my husband drinks it every morning. When we received a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas last year I began trying different brands and blends of coffee for my husband to try. Each time it was "It's ok" until I tried the Pike Place by Starbuck's. Finally a blend that he really liked. Sometimes I'll get a new brand to see if he likes it as well and it's always the same..."It's ok but I still like the Pikes Place better." So that's what I'm sticking with.
Pros: Pleasing Roast, Not Bitter, Smooth Taste, Pleasing Aroma
I found this coffee typical of most Starbucks coffees...overrated,overpriced and overroasted. There are superior brands at much better prices to be had
Tastes burnt! I asked about this at my local Starbucks & the barista said it really is made for people who like to add cream & sugar to their coffee. That is NOT me. I like it black & he agreed that it is NOT for us purists!
Starbucks is a staple here in Seattle and one can grow weary of it. Then along came their Pike Place roast (named after their first shop down on Pile Place) and really delighted my taste buds. It has a smooth texture and leans toward the darker side of coffee without the bitter after taste.
As a native Washingtonian and frequenter of coffee houses and Starbuck's from a young age, I find the Pike Place Roast to be my absolute favorite black coffee. I was so glad to find it in the K-cups and cannot wait for it to become available in the Vue cups. Before finding the cups here, I was traveling 45 minutes to get a bag of beans from the nearest Starbuck's. Not anymore! Thanks, Keurig!
