Starbucks is a staple here in Seattle and one can grow weary of it. Then along came their Pike Place roast (named after their first shop down on Pile Place) and really delighted my taste buds. It has a smooth texture and leans toward the darker side of coffee without the bitter after taste.
This coffee is exactly as described. I enjoy its slight nutty-ness. It is definitely a very appealing coffee. Perfect medium roast and just a slight roasted (or to me burnt) aftertaste which is not unpleasant. It leaves you with enough aftertaste to know it is a strong medium roast. Perfect to wake up to in the morning and I quite enjoy drinking it slowly.
I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I like coffee and drink it every day. Pike Place is my favorite Starbucks coffee except for some occasional "Black Apron' coffees. After reading the reviews, it's apparent to me that we all have different tastes and preferences. To recommend a coffee (a single origin or a blend) to anyone seems pointless because what you like and dislike may be just the opposite with another person. Drink what you like and enjoy it. I like Pike!
Pros: Exceptional/Interesting Flavor, Not Bitter, Attractive Mouthfeel/Body, Pleasing Roast
