As a European in Texas I have found Café Bustelo works amazingly well with Keurig. The brew cup sizes don’t run low enough (I’d love a 6 or even 4oz option) for a truly thick kicker but, using the high strength button and slow feeding into a mug, with a little microwave heated then frothed heavy cream or milk already to receive that fragrant stream of coffeet, produces a very genuine tasting strong dark roast from the 8 or even 10 oz settings. Froth in some Turbinado sugar with the small amount of cream before brewing if you like your coffee sweet or go for preheated and whisked condensed milk for a I Cuban cortadito. I find the acidity of Café Bustelo perfect without any sugars and go for just enough cream to deliver a dark noisette.
Cafe Bustelo has been my favorite coffee pod for several years. It is always my first cup in the morning. A friend stayed all night and was telling me about her espresso machine. After a cup of Cafe Bustelo, she decided I didn't need one.
