Like half-caff, but not the occaisional mess

Does anyone have a problem with the green mountain half-Caff k cups clogging the machine for the next user. My husband shouldn't drink too much caffein, so he especially likes the half-caff. There aren't very many options out there for half-caff k cups. Seems about every third cup he brews, there will be a mess and we need to do a cleansing brew and poke a paper clip through the brewing hole and wipe the needles. Is there a solution besides this continual maintenance? This doesn't seem to happen as often with other varieties of K cups.
