I have used Zebra ballpoint pens for years I love them, but so often they just stop working. There's dead spots/angles that show up when trying to write with them. I keep telling myself i've just had bad luck, but it keeps happening
Nice feel, but they have a built-in failure point....

I really like these F-301, but I have a drawer with 5 or 6 broken ones. The black plastic middle section will break often, a slight overtightening will do it. Much prefer the all-steel ones. Can't break them!
Bought a multi-pack a few months ago. Some of the pens skip while I'm writing. Very annoying. Out of the seven black colored pens, 4 of them skip. Even tried switching to the refills included; still found them to skip. Been buying these pens for over 15 years. never had this happen before. Also, sometimes the top would jump off when trying to close the pen.
I have used the pen for years and love it. I do not buy other pens. I was surprised to read recent comments about the ink skipping and being used up too fast. I have never had that experience, quite the opposite, so it puzzles me. Maybe there was a bad batch of pens?
These were always my favorite pens, hands down. I am a letter writer and wrote hundreds of letters this past year so bought a set of these lovely pens. Alas, several of them skipped, blotted, and clotted. It was SO disappointing, as the pen is the perfect shape, weight, and feeling in my hand. I tried all the methods to smooth the ink/writing, such as heat, shaking, writing on cloth, etc. Nothing fixed the ones that didn't work right.
The ONLY pen I have used for YEARS!! I normally just get black ink, but the new job I accepted about a month ago requires red ink for certain purposes. There are always red pens laying around there and I usually just grab one to use and put it back. I can't do it anymore because I NEED my f-301, so I just put a couple in my cart along with a few refills. üòä Do not ever stop making this pen!!
