The desk is a low end product and if we had any idea of the inferior quality of the product we would have never purchased it and spent the time in assembly something that we take to the dump within the next week. The fact that when you remove the labels affixed to the finish said finish peels off. Our maintenance man has put together many of these "flat box products" and he said "a piece of junk". Now we will need to shop for a quality item from another vendor. Not pleased with STAPLES.

The box was delivered with no damage. I stayers assembling the fire part and when I got to the part of the top of the it was damaged and looked like they glued it. I did not want to return it because I had already started the assembling the desk.

An Experience putting it together!

My desk arrived yesterday and I put it together last night. I am pretty adept at putting these types of items together and in the last month (after moving back into our home) I have put together countless bookcases, night tables, desks, and the like. That said however, the assembly of this desk was a bit more difficult than the others. To be fair, there were a lot more more pieces than some of the other items I have recently assembled (desk drawers alone have about 8 pieces), The problem however was that the screws, hinges, and small parts were not labeled well.... or perhaps they had been, but their identifying stickers had fallen off. After putting tighter one of the pedestals I realized that I had used the incorrect screws and had to take it apart and redo it. It took me a couple of hours to put the entire desk together.
All in all, the desk is very nice... not exactly the quality I though it was, but I am not complaining at all as it will fit my intended use quite nicely, Nerveless I WOULD recommend this desk, but caution those who are not good at putting things together to have someone help you or have Staples to do it for you
