Blue and red pens consistently bleed a blob of ink

Have been a big fan of these pens but the purchase of three separate boxes of these pens where the red and the blue pens bleed an extra ball of ink that then smudges everything I write on is pretty disappointing. Boxes of the older production run with the transparent plastic are still great but the newer production run is consistently poor quality. I'm a bookkeeper and I purchased boxes of 50 at three client's offices recently and they all have this problem.

I purchased this box of 50 assorted ink colors ballpoint pen because Staples did not have or does not carry just a box of 50 in one color. My son uses this type of pen in blue ink for his work and unfortunately Staples did not have a box of 50 in blue ink. So he settled for this assorted ink colors. But he prefers this type of pen due to the comfort.
