I NEEDED SOMETHING INEXPENSIVE AND STURDY. THE RINGS ON THE INSIDE ARE FLAT ON ONE SIDE AND CURVED ON THE OTHER AND THEY MATCH UP SO THERE IS NO PAPER HANG-UP. THEY ARE ACTUALLY VERY STURDY FOR THE PRICE BUT WOULD NOT STAND UP TO DAILY WEAR AND TEAR BY CHILDREN IN SCHOOL. I PURCHSED THEM TO KEEP THINGS OF ONE KIND IN. I DON'T USE TABS FOR DIFFERENT SUBJECTS AND FOR A ONE SUBJECT FOLDER THEY ARE PERFECT. THEY ARE MORE FOR STORAGE THAN FOR DAILY USE. I BOUGHT TEN OF THEM AND HAVE THE PACKED TO THE GILLS RIGHT NOW.
