A very satisfying morning brew

As with many varieties, there are mixed reviews of Mahogany. Not quite sure where the negatives are coming from, I find this a very satisfying cup of coffee to start the day. I do agree that the name Mahogany conjures up something far more substantial than what you get here, but I'm drinking the coffee and not the name. It is a very smooth brew with a nice earthy bottom to the flavors. In a large mug I brew an 8oz and 6oz and it comes out perfectly. Not as rich and powerful as one of the Sumatrans but a bit more robust than the Coffee Shop blend (that has a superior aroma). The only negative, and it is a minor one, the aroma while brewing is non-existent. That's fine because the resulting cup is satisfying, but there are some other K-Cups that fill the room with a smell that makes the clock slow down in anticipation of the completion of the brewing process. I have no hesitancy recommending this to somebody that is looking for a low acidity full flavored alternative to the common bold island varietals.
Pros: Smooth Taste, Balanced Acidity, Not Bitter, Attractive Mouthfeel/Body
Cons: Unappealing Or Flat Aroma

Perfect Coffee!

It says in the description, "Ideal dark roast for light roast drinkers," and this is exactly right. I'm finding I don't like dark roasts as much as I did years ago. This coffee is so smooth, velvety smooth, lovely body and mouth feel. Great taste too! Very delicious. This is the second Caribou coffee I've tasted, the first being the decaf (also delicious) and I'm beginning to love this company!

Wonderful Coffee

I've been sampling coffee for many years now and after receiving a Keurig for my birthday, I've been trying various k-cups. When I initially ordered, I studied all of the reviews online and tried to get the best of the best. Of all the coffee blends that I've tried so far, the Mahogany Blend by Caribou provides the smoothest, bold, rich taste without bitterness or after-taste. I've been spoiled by Starbucks all these years and I could definitely be content with a cup or two of this instead every day. There are very few blends out there that in my mind, could compare to the mixture of molasses, spices and semi-sweet chocolate hints that are in this blend. If this was a wine...you'd be paying over $100 for a bottle :) Enjoy!!!

I couldn't ID any chocolate flavor but that's ok. It was great tasting though. I would still recommend this coffee. I was very impressed with it. It doesn't leave an after taste either. Give it a shoot. you'll love it.

My new favorite coffee

I like bold, dark coffee, but usually end up with something bitter or burnt tasting. I had just about given up my search until I tried Caribou Mahogany. Dark, tasty, smooth, and no bitter after taste. I have to force myself not to drink too much! You will not be disappointed.

Recently, husband and I have been unhappy with the coffee we have been buying - too bitter, too strong, too blah or just meh. So I thought why not take the Keurig coffee test, they made recommendations and we tried some. I am so happy with this coffee. I don't have the fancy coffee words - like, oh it was smokey. I will say that it is incredibly smooth, has depth to it, and is on the darker end of the scale. But that does not mean it is bitter, or has an unpleasant kick. It is a nice blend of flavors, we will be purchasing again.

Wow! Now that's good coffee

Just brewed my first cup and the only downside is that now my cup is empty. I brewed on the medium cup setting and this is by far the best K-Cup coffee I have tasted and I have tried quite a few. Bold but not bitter with just a small hint of sweetness like molasses. If you enjoy a very full flavored cup of coffee that is also smooth as silk buy this. You won't be disappointed.

Bold but not bitter

I got the sample of this and I'm back for more. Great tasting coffee. It's a bold cup but not bitter at all and not super bold. I have made it using the medium setting as well as the large setting on my Keurig and it works really well for both. Those people who like a really strong French roast would probably think this too mild. But those who like something a little bolder than a morning blend will love this one.
