My only concern is that I have purchased these combs from Staples previously and each package seems to always be short 1 or 2 spines.

I have used binding spines for years making calendars for family members. I used 1/4" until this year and the 3/8" seems to hold the 13 pages much nicer. (12 sheets regular paper one picture on card stock)
