This is the blend for me. I love this coffee. It's smooth and flavorful. There is no oily or bitter aftertaste. I appreciate this blend and it's my go to!
I have been drinking this coffee for four years now. My last box of Sumatra that I bought is undrinkable if you like dark roast. It has moved from dark roast to medium roast. The coffee is weak and tastes like it is watered down. Waste of money because I will not be drinking this coffee anymore and the box I have will be thrown out because no one in my household likes light or medium roast....
I've been drinking this coffee for a few years but I've been very disappointed lately. My parents have been telling me for months that it doesn't taste the same and I kind of brushed it off. I now understand. It tastes very weak and diluted ...doesn't have the rich taste and aroma anymore. Very disappointed.
Sumatra produces some of the best coffees in the world, and in general, it's one of my favorite single-origin coffees. But I've had better than Green Mountain's Sumatra Reserve. It's a dark, strong, very bold coffee--no doubt--but it's a bit too much "in your face" for me. There's a general harshness and lack of complexity that I'm not crazy about. Don't get me wrong--it's decent coffee. However, I don't think I'll buy it again. If you like dark and bold coffees, Dark Magic is much better.
I have been drinking Green Mountain Sumatra Reserve for close to 10 years and have 6 boxes on Auto-Delivery. I use 6 oz. of water with each cup. Very smooth not harsh at all.
I prefer a truly robust dark roast but sometimes what I get is a coffee that tastes like burnt beans. Or, dark with a fruit tone. this Sumatra Reserve is a nice dark, robust with nutty tones. Very nice. This may be my new go to.
