I understand some people don't like the taste of expresso, so if you don't this coffee is probably not for you. I think this is the best cup of coffee i've had in the Keurig.
It was a good strong cup of coffee, but I don't think it should be priced any higher than other flavors of coffee. The flavor did leave a lingering aftertaste like licking a 9V battery. The bold taste of it all does make up for the aftertaste but the roast should be called wake up call or INSOMNIAC either or.
I really wanted to like this coffee. It keeps me up like nothing else, so if that is what you are after this may do it for you even though it is a dark roast. For me it does it even when I drink it only in the morning, so that's not a good thing. When I shake the k-cup I hear what sounds like an extra piece of plastic (or something) inside the cup [have not performed surgery to see what it is]...?
Finally Kuerig has produced a coffee product that rivals brewed coffee. I love my machine, but it bothered me that the coffee products were the weakest part of the K-cup line. This is first and foremost a coffee maker, right? The Barista Prima Italian Roast is dark, bold and flavorful. I compared it to the new Starbucks cafe Verona line, and Barista Prima wins hands down if you like strong bold coffee.
Haven't tried many different varieties yet since my Keurig is new, but have already tasted many. This is by far my favorite. I do not like a wimpy cup of coffee, I like something with a bold strong flavor. This is it. I love Espresso and this is the closest to Espresso without actually drinking Espresso. Price here...Not Good. I bought a box at [@] 4 to 5 dollars cheaper.
Although a bit more expensive than most K-cups, this coffee is worth it -- bold without any hint of bitterness or acidity. I like a coffee that is good enough not to need milk or sugar to hide its flaws. This one, my new favorite, fits the bill. I drink it black first thing to start the day on a great note. It makes it easier to leave the warmth and comfort of the bed.
