I like dark roast coffee. This be has a good strong flavor, without being bitter. I will buy it again.

After finishing my first cup of this fantastic coffee; I'm hooked. Much stronger than I expected and does not have the bitter taste of most bold coffees. With a little dash of 1/2 and 1/2, I get a lovely creamy cup of strong coffee. I am looking forward to trying the French Roast and hope to see a Decaf soon. Great K-Cup!
Pros: Pleasing Aroma, Not Bitter, Balanced Acidity, Smooth Taste
I would recommend this to a friend!

Just because it costs more doesn't mean it's better. Note that it is a dark roast but not "extra bold" Huge difference in ultimate flavor. I thought because I liked the Tully's Italian roast, I would like this....NOT TRUE. I would classify this as a medium roast with a burnt aftertaste.
Pros: Pleasing Aroma
Cons: Unpleasant Flavor, Thin Or Watery Mouthfeel/Body, Unpleasant Aftertaste, Not Enough Flavor
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my husband's favorite coffee of the few he has tried. I have tried many, and while this was one I originally liked, I began to notice has a horrible aftertaste. It is consistent with every cup. The flavor of the coffee is great if only it did not leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Pros: Pleasing Aroma, Pleasing Roast
Cons: Unpleasant Aftertaste
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seems to have changed

I really liked this coffee when I had ordered it in the past, but it seems like something has changed--the beans, the roast, the quantity, or something. It's much more intense now, to the exclusion of the other qualities I remembered enjoying. The pleasant sweet dark chocolate notes are overwhelmed by bitterness. Or to put it in chocolatier's terms, it's gone from 60% cocoa to 90% cocoa. I think it's perfectly fine with food, especially sweet or buttery breakfast items, but it's a little much for me by itself. I do drink it black, however. Having said that: if you have a brewer with a travel mug size, you might want to experiment with that setting. It's obviously less bitter in the largest size, but I still think it's missing that slight sweetness I remember it having. And it's maybe a little flat-tasting that way, yet somehow I also think the aftertaste is more unpleasant. After tasting the two in short succession, I think I like the standard 9 oz. size better. Bottom line: I don't think it holds up next to some of the lower-priced, more widely available alternatives.
This coffee should be listed as an EXTRA BOLD coffee which I would not have tried. I am sure some people like this, but it is not for everyone. :-(
Pros: Pleasing Aroma
Cons: Unbalanced Or Sharp Acidity, Unpleasant Flavor, Unpleasant Aftertaste
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

You'd best like a smoky taste

I like strong, bold coffees, but the smoky/burnt taste (and aroma) was just too much for me. I know that is part of an Italian Blend, which is why I'm giving this 4 stars and would recommend it to friends who like Italian Roast, but this is not what I prefer. Dark Magic or Black Tiger gives me the big, bold taste I enjoy, without the overly smoky taste that I don't like.
