SHAZZZAAAMMMM This is some serious coffee. I ordered a sample box of this. I use it in My Keurig Platinum. Next order will be more than 1 box. I love strong coffee and almost always that means bitter. Not this one. My favorite. One cup in the AM does get the motor running. Great flavor, just a little smokey Sorta like a pumped up Dark Magic/Sumatran Reserve, except fuller. I would say that if you like strong, full, rich coffee, don't miss this one. It is really exceptional.
I like Dark Magic and read the reviews for this and thought I'd love it and I can't find anyone to take the extras off my hands. My husband tried to offer it to people at work who are hard core dark coffee drinkers...they couldn't drink it!!!
Pros: Pleasing Aroma
Cons: Unpleasant Aftertaste, Unpleasant Flavor, Unbalanced Or Sharp Acidity
Shazaam: you may believe this is not for the faint of Heart. I love Dark Magic, Sumatran Reserve and the bolder coffees. This is THE macho coffee, that we dream about. Very Very rich full flavored, yet not bitter like some strong coffees. Slightly smokey flavor and WOW, I believe that where I usually drink 3 cups in the morning this might do it in 1. Just ordered a sample pak,,,,, MISTAKE. Will certainly correct that on the next order.
Pros: Only need 1 cup not 3, STRONG BUT NOT BITTER, Exceptional/Interesting Flavor, Smooth Taste
This coffee reminds me of the Espresso Blend in many ways, but at the end, and it's at the end which ultimately gives it a thumbs down, though a small one. The Espresso Blend from Green Mountain is my favorite all-around extra bold dark coffee thus far. This one has the level of dark, yet smooth flavor. Not particularly layered in its flavor, but at the end, the last taste is almost a slight licorice flavor. One of my least favorite flavors, it's a kind of herbal bitterness. Not huge, mind you, but enough to leave that flavor as the lasting one. Before you get to that note, it's a very nice coffee, but I'd go for the Espresso Blend for a similar coffee but without that note.
Pros: Smooth Taste, Attractive Mouthfeel/Body, Dark Rich
I normally enjoy a strong brewed coffee, and usually enjoy dark brews, but this one was just way over the top to my tastes. Even with extra sugar/creamer, this coffee tasted unpleasantly bitter and strong.
Cons: Unpleasant Aftertaste, Bitter taste, Too strong
