I'm coming off of owning the Fold 4. Sadly the phone only lasted 15 months before the inner display was damaged top to bottom at the hinge and unfortunately by no doing of my own, Samsung considered that a cracked screen and I had to trade it in on top of taking a hit on the value. The part(s) where not available and so repairs were not an option.
Back to a flat, single screen phone for me. Going back to the S line is getting used to holding a whole different phone, the S24 Ultra is almost feather weight, very light. It's a whole hand held experience coming off of holding a foldable with a narrow design when it's closed.
Camera: It looks like the quick video (2s) before snapping a picture (Motion picture) is only available for the 12M setting, that's disappointing because that feature was helpful for in picture screen cap and I take a lot of pictures so I'll have to do a deep dive into the new settings. Also, I have saved settings on my Fold4 that didn't carry over.
S-Pen: This is home sweet home for all Note fans moving into the S-line fambam. Useful tool as always. I've never had an issue using the S Pen however I've noticed that it disconnects way too often from the phone while the pen and phone are close to each other & editing photos with the S Pen comes off harder to do as the screen does not respond to the Pen touch.
Screen: The screen feels very wide but that's not a bad thing, the one thing that does throw me off is the layout of the keyboard, it just feels massive even after resizing the Samsung Keyboard.
Keyboard: The microphone option, input, is now anchored at the bottom of the Samsung keyboard and no longer an option in the settings so if you toggle it off you have to press and hold the recording option on the bottom right side of the keyboard and if you leave the input option on, it lifts the whole keyboard up some that it just doesn't look appealing.
Side buttons: If the Foldable phones have a swipe feature on their power button and it's somewhat embedded into the side panel why can't that exist on the S line and altogether remove the physical pop up power and volume buttons for a more touch-less experience?
Screen Gestures: This gave me a bit of a head scratcher, but due to the new Circle to Search feature that's housed at the bottom (center) of the screen there's just a slight change to get used to. To "Go Back" you can swipe to the left on the right side of the screen. To "Open All Apps" slight press, hold and swipe up from there you can toggle what apps to go back to or close them all and to "Go Back" to the home screen, swipe up from the right side.
Battery life: Out of the box I used the battery life on the phone until it ran out before doing a full charge. The phone last for a good 24 hours, after that the battery maintained a good life span in between charging it on and off or fully charging it.
Overall display: This new display configuration is a new eye experience. Standing outside in the sun, the phone quickly adjust to keep clear and crisp imagery in the display and inside you get calm colors but in either settings, your eyes will like what they see on this display.
Speaker(s): I'm not sure if it's the new cut out or if the speaker hardware was enhanced or updated, but the speaker(s) on this device is loud and clear while being loud, sweet change/upgrade.
Screen Scrolling: I have experienced some lagging while I'm scrolling through any apps. In between scrolling the screen stops or freezes for a few seconds before the screens starts up again and it automatically continues scrolling or in other cases I have close the app, such as YouTube, and restart it to unfreeze the screen.
Screen Lock pin#: From the Fold 4 and older version, I would set up a 4 digit passcode to unlock my phone and other areas of the device and I would be able to set the "Click Ok automatically" option, now with the S24 Ultra, if you set a 4 digit code you aren't allowed to automatically click Ok to to unlock your device instead you have to set a minimum 6 digit code to get the option. A bit too much if you know how to secure your own device already.
Samsung Cloud: Bring the full function back. To be able to back up everything in 1 sweep is pretty sweet but now the Cloud has lost a lot of what it can do so we are left with backing up to OneDrive or buying up more storage elsewhere.
Fingerprint scanner: Major upgrades to this, I still hold out hope they'll lower its placement however you barely have to put any pressure on the display before the screen is already unlocked.
Audio: Whether you're using the phones speaker or connected to any of the Buds, the audio cuts out for 1 to 3 seconds at random, something odd I've noticed from time to time. The phone and the Buds are updated to their current version(s) so I'm not sure where this little bug comes from. And if you're using Android Auto, you'll notice this too.
Overall: I am enjoying my S24 Ultra and still getting used to the changes on the device and setting up my own stuff on it. I will hold off from jumping back into the Foldable phones and there durability just isn't there for the time being. This is also my first pre order phone from Samsung that I get delivered early, which was a nice surprise.

I am super happy with this phone - Brilliant looks - grey color is marvelous
Not happy with the flat screen, the front camera has lower resolution compared to previous phones. Do not recommend do upgrade if you have an S22 or S24
