Great texture

Perfect for Crafts and Projects

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product a few weeks ago and I wanted to compare it to the other paints in my craft collection. I love to craft and make different projects using paint on a variety of materials. It worked on wood, canvas and paper. The paint poured out of the bottle easily and was not clumpy. I like the easy pour lid so it did not make a huge mess. It was easy to pour out paint for my kid's projects too. The color is very vibrant which can sometimes be difficult for a yellow. It did not seemed watered down and cheap like other paints. I would say this product is durable because it has a thicker bottle, easy pour lid and the paint is a good consistency. Overall I am happy with this addition to my craft products.

Long-lasting paint set offering mess free painting

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this 9-piece tempera cakes paint set for my girls to use, as they love painting and doing arts and crafts activities at home. What drew me to these tempera cakes is that their art teacher uses them, and always raves about how easy they are to clean and store, and how the kids love them. I was never a fan of tempera and other paints that usually stain clothes and that because my girls would bump the table and spill their water cups or the paint trays, leaving a mess for me to clean up. But with this set from PRANG, all I have to do is add a little water to each of the tempera cakes and the girls are ready to go. The tray and cakes is big enough for 2-4 kids to use at a table, and this set in particular comes with all the popular colors kids look for when painting, including black and white. I provide my girls with heavy cardstock paper when using these tempera paints, as they hold up well to the watery paint. And, when their artwork dries, the colors are bright and colorful, what you expect from a good paint set like this one from PRANG.
I also noticed that these tempera cakes don't have a strong smell like some other tempera paints I have bought for my girls to use. There was no smell at all when they used them, and both they and I really liked this. Also, the girls were able to let the tempera cakes dry out, and knew that if they wanted to go back and use the paint again, the cakes would be dried out and not usable. All they had to do was add a drop of water to the center of the tempera paint cakes and squish their paintbrush around to get the cake wet for use.
As a mom, I love how clean up of these tempera cake sets are a breeze. Again, you can simply let the cakes dry out and then store the tray with tempera cakes in the plastic covered tray it comes with. No need to grab tons of paper towels to clean up paint spills, as there is no mess with these paints, which I love. I highly recommend the PRANG gallery tempera cakes set if you are looking for a long lasting tempera paint set for your kids.

Easy and smooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to create a bunch of projects with this paint. We had a little school break and I was able to let my kids use it for whatever they wanted. They used it to make smurfs, clouds anything that was blue. They did make a mess but it was easy to clean up and like the bottle says, it comes off on most clothing. I did do a load of laundry and it seems as though it came out. I would use this paint again. I was a little nervous due to it being tempera but I am not nervous anymore.

Bright and fun

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kid had a blast painting with Prang Yellow paint. I love that it dries fast and is washable. The color saturation is lovely and my kids art work looked bright and fun. Easy to clean too. This 16 oz bottle is an amazing value.

Awesome paint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this paint and my 13 year old tried it out on a white canvas she had. We liked how thick it came out of the bottle. It was not a runny mess. She did a drip affect and it slowly moved down the canvas leaving a nice streak pattern that she was going for. This did not take much time to dry at all.
We got the yellow color and it was very vibrant! She was doing this project at the kitchen table without laying anything down and did get some on the table. I got some hot soapy water and the paint washed right off, so that is a plus if you are looking to use this paint with younger kids and worried it might stain surfaces or clothing.
This is a large size bottle so you can get many uses out of it. A little goes a long way!
Her next project was to paint a wood picture frame and again the paint went nicely on that surface. She did 2 coats so it would look nice but it was fine when it had just one coat.
It also washed out of the container she put it in to dip her paint brush in to.
I would highly recommend this paint for kids projects!

Saturated!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great if you have a small child at home. They're so low waste, and much lower mess than regular paint. I've used them with my one year old and 90% of the paint stayed on the paper. The colors are nice and saturated too. And the cubes are huge! I was picturing watercolor sized trays, but these are more like the size of a cracker. I foresee them lasting a very long time.
