I'd been using the "blue" competitor's brand for years for projects as small as hand-painted fishing lures to as big as the great room in my house. Even with the most expensive, top-of-the-line blue stuff, I'd still get leakage that would have to be touched up after everything dried. Not so with FrogTape Multi-Surface.
When pressed down with standard force, FrogTape Multi-Surface bonds to the surface and creates a barrier that paint just can't penetrate, no matter how diluted it is. I won't buy another roll of the blue stuff, the beige stuff, or any other product that claims to be better than FrogTape Multi-Surface. When you want a professional-looking job done (even if it's being done by amateurs like me), go with the best...FrogTape Multi-Surface.
I builds models. I’ve tried a variety of different brands but Frog tape is the best. Clean lines that the paint doesn’t bleed thru and it easily removes from painted surfaces without sticking to painted surface
Frog tape is higher quality than the Scotch blue tape. It's just a little bit thicker and easier to remove without damaging the surface underneath while still clinging to the surface just as well. I have used hundreds of rolls of the blue tape when the company I worked for remodeled a hotel and became very frustrated as the blue tape tears into long thin strips as you unroll it, especially if you are using a Hand-Masker Dispenser. The Frog tape does not do this. I comes off the roll nice and smooth.
I use frog tape and blue tape. Frog tape seems to hold better and release better than Blue tape. Frog tape a little more expensive but worth the cost when needing a nice clean line.
