Better Late than Never

I was one of those weirdos who didn't buy this set at launch, since it "didn't fit into the town aesthetic."
Long story short, I bought this a year later and it ended up being my favorite set from 2019. Easily the most unique and fun build of the year, and the final product is a super solid, and eye-catching piece. Whether it's by itself or laid out with other sets, this is a must have!
If you're questioning getting it, I would do it!

Best set ever

Before this set, my favourite was Medieval Market Village, but this set is the sweetest gem in my collection. I was always fascinated with the house of Hansel and Gretel and this Gingerbread house kinda reminds me of it. It was enjoyable build and I like every aspect of it. When putting roofs you just need to be careful and it will go without problems.

Love it!

I have the whole village collection and of course this one is so special at Christmas! Brings Christmas right into your home with thoughts of baking and family and friends warm and cozy gatherings! The BIG downside for me was the disappointment with the baby gingerbread. This is a SAD representation! You all need to fix this and send out a REAL gingerbread baby FIGURINE to all the people who purchased this! at the very least make a different one and make them available for purchase............the fact that you call this a "figurine" is ridiculous!

Sweet set!

This set was so much fun to build and very cute! My 5-year old son helped me build it over the course of a couple of evenings. Installing the roof panels was a little tricky, they just need moderate pressure to snap on. The instructions were very clear, we had no issues with the build. I thought I might be missing a couple of the brown pieces from bag 1, but I found them in bag 2. We are just starting to put together a Christmas village at our house, so we have missed getting the older sets in the series. This will make a great start and looks wonderful as a standalone piece. The house is adorable, accessories and gingerbread family Minifigures are so much fun!

Great addition to the village!

Was a great build. I didn't find it difficult at all, Not sure why some people had issues with the roof, the roof clicked perfectly. I built it, I don't think my 8 yo son can do some of the parts. Those who had issues they should probably rebuild the set, pretty sure they missed a step.

Cute winter theme!

I've never been attracted to the LEGO winter village products, but this one is so cute! My children and I had a great time building it. We had a great laugh at the fact that the house come with a toilet :D
To address some concerns with the previous poster. -The roof is a little tricky to put on, but once you have it on correctly and secured it with the poles through the center, it's rock solid. I would suggest going back a few steps to make sure you haven't made any mistakes. I had to correct my son's mistake and shoo them away to do it properly. -The baby can absolutely play on the rocking horse. There is a little notch on the back of the "saddle" where you can attach the baby. I was thrilled when my children discovered this. -I do agree that the baby could have been a bit more. Maybe a microfigure? -I do agree that the colors could be more "Christmasy", but I feel that this set achieves the feel more than the other Winter Village themed products (which is why I've never cared for them) For example, the pram and the horse could have been red and green, the present could have had a snowflake instead of a heart, the frosted windows could have been yellow and green, the crib could have been brown and white, the lamps on the front door could have been sugar plums, etc.
For my findings, -The little toy car? Train? I have no idea what it's supposed to be. I wish it was something else. The set already has a choo choo train. It could have been a tiny nutcracker, for example. -The smoke does reach to light the brick for the fireplace, so again I suggest checking the build. -I would like to point out that if I need to change out the battery I would have to remove a large portion of the chimney. Doable, but not a 10 second job. -I am glad that there were only three stickers. The baby and the cookies come pre printed. -The snow frosting and candies on the rooftops are what make set "Christmasy". I adore them. That with the red and white pillars. -The little stockings are darlings!!! I only wish it came with a tiny one for the baby :)
Overall, I am happy with this set. My children love playing with it. I'm looking forward to building it every year!

This set was really fun to build for me (an adult who builds legos regularly). The details and thought put into the design and details blew my mind with every step. It has so much play potential and the little details make it so fun. Definitely my favorite set of the year! Would highly recommend!

fun set, some good some room for improvement

I enjoyed building and felt it was well designed. There are some things in this set that are better than other Winter Village in the past and it looks cute sitting out at the holiday time.
It is a bit hard to fit into the existing Winter Village collection, but I think of them as the artistic funky neighbors to the blue "ski lodge" house and the Gingerbread family is just another neighbor in the village. At first I thought I would place it in my "winter fair" area with the carousel and the food booths where I have a big tree and ice rink but then when I built the set I saw they are just a regular family so I will put them in the residential area.
I agree with other reviewers that the baby as a tile instead of a micro fig is silly considering we have seen a baby micro fig in another set.
Some other reviewers have mentioned having trouble with the roofs but mine are very well designed and solid. Much better than some of the earlier Winter Village roofs. The tolerances are tight but when you get them in place they are very satisfying.
I also feel like the design on the light brick is much better than some in the past that were more awkward to operate.
My child thinks there needs to be a ladder to get to the loft but I think the house is just cut in half and we can't see the stairs.
