Great idea, but ONLY for soft veggies or cheese

Bought this for Christmas, we used it for what is exactly pictured on the box: red cabbage. No go. My wife could not get it to grate. I had to apply a substantial amount of force down on the cabbage and only then it would grate. We had to pull out our small, electric food processor to get the job done. Would this device work, yes, but only for something that would be simple to grate: cheese, cucumbers, onions, etc. First use left us rather disappointed. Expected more from a Starfrit product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The drum blades were exactly what I wanted for grating and slicing. However, the suction cup on the bottom did not hold the machine steady on any surface I tried, including a marble countertop, a cool glass cooking surface, and a metal cookie sheet, so it was difficult to hold and operate at the same time.

Awesome grater and fairly easy to clean. I grated a full block of cheese effortlessly in less than 2 minutes. With a normal grater, this would have take much more time and effort

I absolutely love this! It works way better than the attachment for my Kitchen Aide stand mixer. My only complaint would be as a left handed person it is a little awkward having to rotate the handle towards yourself. Would definitely recommend.
