Multiple Lost Connections with USB

This UPS is not nearly as good as the SUA750 it replaced. Purchased a few months ago, the Powerchute Software and USB interface has lost connection over 6 times since placing into service. The SUA750, which was in service for over 14 years, NEVER lost connection with PowerChute.
Cons: Part Failure
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this product in preparation for Hurricane Irma, and it has worked perfectly during my use. Even when there are no storms, my area is slightly prone to outages, and this UPS has never failed to provide uninterrupted PC use.
During the storm, I had the chance to truly stress-test this product, as I was experiencing multiple power outages a minute. During 40 minutes of PC use, with lights constantly flickering, the UPS logged over 40 events that required battery backup, yet my PC was completely unaffected. After the storm, I was without power for 2.5 days, and the battery kept enough power to charge multiple phones multiple times.

I am very happy with this UPS. I did quite a bit of reading before I purchased it because of some of the mixed reviews. I'll cover the ones it seemed were mentioned the most. First: odor. When I first plugged mine in it had a VERY SLIGHT odor for the first couple weeks. I would pretty much have to be sitting right next to it to notice. Second: noise. The fan can hardly be heard when it's running and the unit is virtually silent all other times. Third: Heat. Mine has never been more than barely warm to the touch. Fourth: brightness. The display is what I would describe as a cool blue in color. It doesn't shine light in and of itself so it doesn't light up the room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Perfect for Small business

I prefer this device over the SMC1500 due to the runtime. It’s worth the extra investment for your small home or office environment.

Pricy Replacement Batteries and Upfront Cost

I manage the UPS for a midsize biotech in South SF with over 2.5millionKVA backup potential. Before buying this consider if your using a diesel to provide increased power outage support this might be more than you need. True it's scalable if you have high current start up requirements/maintaining switches for pumps PGE will love you for this properly configuring loads on this SMT. Otherwise the BR1500 is my personal favoroite for NGS MiSeq type instruments.
Pros: Energy Efficient, Ease of Management, High Quality, High Confidence Level in 24/7 Uptime

Benefits any workstation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm highly satisfied with my uninterruptible power supply with surge protection from APC. This floorstanding unit has tremendous battery capacity, especially considering its small footprint. It features 8 grounded outlets, a slot for a network management card, one USB-A and a SmartConnect Port, menu navigation buttons, and an easy-to-read LCD screen. It supports my network, PC, multiple monitors, modem, and router with ease. If you max it out, it will give about 24 minutes of usage during an outage; I'm running at around 30% load and get about 40 minutes. What's more, APC SmartConnect can be implemented to monitor the status of your UPC remotely if you wish, but isn't necessary to enjoy the other benefits of this product while omitting real-time monitoring from a distance. The peace of mind in knowing that there will be time to save critical work is worth investing in.
