[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] have sold many of these units and use one personally due to the large readout, extended time and online!!! can see what is all going on and has saved me a few times due to flickering and even during an outtage
Pros: Energy Efficient, Easy to Perform Maintenance, Ease of Management, Good Value, High Quality, Fast, Good Vendor Support, High Confidence Level in 24/7 Uptime

Solid unit but can't access via Ethernet port

I have 3 of these units in my remote observatory
and being able to view information on them remotely is extremely important. I wish it were possible to access them directly via the Ethernet port. They are too far away from my equipment for a USB connection, and one unit only has networking gear on it.

Great UPS but the SOFTWARE is horrible

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can never access my 3 APC SmartUPS on my network... it seems to theirs always an issue. Why can't APC make software that doesn't need so much maintenance to work.?
And my Nickname is too short... You people just love torturing your customers.

Deployed about 10 of these to a local financial institution who also wanted the ability to network manage all of the UPS's via the internet. The product is solid, with some software features lacking. Overall a very good buy.
Pros: Good Value, High Quality, Good Vendor Support, High Confidence Level in 24/7 Uptime

Having to manage it only via the APC site is a NO!

There is no local web interface, the UPS have to be allowed to connect to the APC site in order to be configured - this is a big NO in any security conscious organization.
Cons: Difficult to Use, Difficult Maintenance, Difficult Management

Becoming the standard of small business rack UPS

These are quickly becoming the standard 1500VA solution for our small business customers with a rack that only need a smaller amount of runtime for their equipment. As always these are solid and reliable and the LCD is great and easy to read. The SmartConnect for remote monitoring works very well too. Highly recommended!

Such a Great PRICE You'll Think It's a MISPRINT!

If you don’t require a rack mounted UPS, this UPS is one heck of a great deal. Plenty of capacity for most home and desktop applications at a price you won’t believe. Pure sine wave output and AVR are great performance highlights, but the value of the new “SmartConnect” feature is even better. Plus, APC allows “1 Additional Year of Battery Warranty for FREE when you connect and register your Smart-UPS with SmartConnect”. Don’t pass up this incredible value!
