So Useful in Every Room of the House

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t expect this to replace our main TV, but it has become the screen our family uses the most. I love how easy it is to roll from room to room—morning news in the bedroom, family shows at the dining table, or kids’ songs in the nursery. The adjustable height and tilt make it comfortable for me to relax in bed, and perfect for my baby to enjoy her shows safely at eye level. Streaming works smoothly, and it feels like a screen that truly fits into our daily family life.

Not as advertised

The product does not function as advertised. There is no way to view basic documents without another laptop connected to the monitor. The operating system is overwhelmed by a 500kb .pdf document opened from the office hub. The swing is in essence a very expensive touchscreen. I wrongly assumed it would have similar functionality of an iPad…it’s not even close.

Great portability and ease of use

I have been using it as both a tv and a computer monitor. It’s a fantastic purchase and my kid loves it. The screen is solid, brightness is decent, and the usb-c feature is perfect for quick monitor use. It’s easy to take room to room and to use for a variety of things. It goes from my office for work, bedroom for watching tv, and my kids room for playing games. LG product should consider how to add whiteboard like features, as I imagine that would unlock an even bigger market.

The all-in-one screen we didn’t mnow we needed !!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve been using the LG Smart Monitor Swing for a little while now, and honestly, it’s one of the most versatile devices we’ve ever owned. The screen is super bright and crisp, which makes everything from work documents to movies look amazing. The touchscreen is surprisingly convenient. I didn’t realize how much I’d love being able to just tap and swipe through things instead of relying only on a keyboard or mouse. Also the resoultion is super clear, you can see it from the photos I uploaded. The clarity makes it easy to read on the monitor, thus I can work anywhere. //
Connectivity is a breeze. With just a simple USB-C to USB-C cable, it works seamlessly with both my MacBook Pro and our LG Gram notebook—charging and transferring data at the same time. On top of that, AirPlay works flawlessly. It’s fast, no lags, and the convenience of going wireless means I can literally work from the couch or even in bed without being tethered by cords. //
The rolling stand is another game-changer. It moves smoothly, the cord is long enough to reach outlets easily, and we love that we can move it around our small space to get the perfect angle for whatever we’re doing—work, cooking, or relaxing. It feels like the perfect blend of a smart monitor and a TV. For a young couple living in a small apartment like us, it’s basically the all-in-one screen we didn’t know we needed. // I am a HSAD employee and I received a sample of the LG Swing to try. Overall, great product except for the sound

I would give it a 5 star if it wasn't for the sound quality. The product is amazing, sleek, user-friendly, has a beautiful design and the screen resolution is great (not that I mostly use it as a laptop monitor and to stream from my office). Connectivity is great also although I haven't figured why my USB C thunderbolt is not connecting to it - but regardless, HDMI works perfectly well. I've started using it yesterday and haven't tried using the laptop extension feature yet. The only thing that doesn't make it a perfect product is the sound quality. For something that's meant to be used as a hybrid device between a monitor and a TV (+ for the price), the sound should be top notch. I know that the previous version (LG standbyme) does have an attachable speaker, this one doesn't yet. If it does come out one day, I'm really hoping that the price will not be extortionately high...

General opinion is good overall

I'm grown, lol, but I'd never had any entertainment electronic items in my bedroom. Mainly because I didn't have the wall space to hang a t.v. that would be big enough to see without my glasses. I just happened to run across this item and decided to give it a try. It looks wonderful for my purposes and although I thought the flat sound was gonna be an issue, it wound up being just fine. I can't figure out how to look at my local news live yet but that hasn't been a huge problem because I mainly look at Netflix and YouTube. I'm assuming a new version will come out eventually and what I wanted to know is if you all think a newer monitor will come as just the monitor...updated and ready to attach to the same stand or would one have to buy the whole thing again? Thanks.

Nice screen, but some hassles connecting to a PC

The screen looks nice, and the large size with thin depth in a touchscreen is great. Connecting it as a touchscreen to a (Windows) PC though is a little rough.
Touchscreen connectivity seems to work only when displaying through USB-C. When connecting display through HDMI with a separate USB cable connected to the PC through the upstream USB-C slot, the display works, but touching the screen only makes an input HDMI banner appear and does not send touch data. Even when displaying through USB-C, it is hit or miss whether the screen detects the PC and allows you to select that as an input source. Restarting the PC while the screen is in the home hub seems to work better, but it may take a few tries, which is awkward if you don't have another monitor on your PC to help you restart it gracefully.
Most of the time the screen transitions into and out of sleep mode promptly, but a couple of times it has become unresponsive even to its remote and needed to be unplugged from the wall.
The USB downstream ports allow you to plug a keyboard or other device into the screen and use it with the PC--but when the screen is in sleep mode, I could not get it to forward data. Unfortunately this means you cannot wake up the touchscreen from a USB device unless you plug it directly into the PC. Tapping the touch screen does not wake it up from sleep either. It does respond to wake up commands sent from the PC.
I am hopeful that these hassles will eventually be solved by a firmware update. The hardware seems very good.
