4x6 Premium Plus Photo Paper

I have used this paper for years and have been very very pleased with the quality of my prints. I print all my photos at home which is between 700 to a 1000 each year. I have always liked the deep blacks and bright rich colors I got from the older Premium Plus paper. But the new improved paper is no better than the regular paper. When I first started using it, I could not believe my eyes and was upset that HP changed such a good product. It dries faster, but I would rather have the better looking prints that I got on the older paper. The blacks come out a more dark olive in many cases and the colors are no longer bright and rich looking. To test what I was seeing I printed some of the same pictures on the older and newer paper and there is a big difference. The new paper cannot compare to the older. I did not mind paying the extra cost for this paper because of the quality of my prints, but I will no longer buy this paper and since this is the best paper HP makes, I went out this week and bought a different brand printer and will try their best paper.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The package says this paper works with all inkjet printers, but it does not work with my Photosmart printer. I tried it several times. It was expensive and I'm hugely disappointed.

I use this because I like to keep my system entirely HP. I haven't used other paper so therefore I have no experience to comment on. It seems good enough.

NOT "new and improved"!

I have been using the HP Premium Plus Photo Paper for years, and have always loved it...the heaviness of the paper, it's texture, the vivid and true colors. This new paper is awful. The paper is thinner than in used to be, which I could live with if the pictures printed up well, but they don't.
I opened the first box and printed pictures from my son's JROTC inspection, and all of the pictures had a greenish tint to them. I thought maybe it was due to the lication that the pictures were taken, so I printed some of the same pictures onto the original Premium Plus 8.5 x 11 paper that I have, and the colors were perfect.
Once the pictures printed on the new paper "set" for an hour or so, the colors were truer, but still not perfect. I thought it was me, so I asked my husband (who works in the printing industry, and has an excellent eye for color) to look at the pictures, and he agreed that the colors are a bit off. I also worry that, if it took a while for the colors to 'set', will they last as well as on the old paper?
I have to say, HP was wonderful to deal with. I called them and discussed all of this, and they sent out replacement paper the same day, and when the new packs had the same issue, they refunded my money immediately.
If you are a casual photo taker, this paper may be fine, but for someone who is serious about photos and scrapbooking them, I am hoping HP returns to their original Premium Plus paper.

Love the "Soft Gloss" Finish!

I have tried several paper finishes but for me the 'Soft Gloss' is the best. When I print photos for customers, their comments are always how pleased they are with the exceptional quality and appearance of the photos. The 'Soft Gloss' gives the photos the look of using the best, not second best.

"NEW" INSTANT DRY paper stinks

the new instant dry paper does not print a sharp image on my HP Photosmart printer that I have been using for 6 yrs as well as the same kind of paper.

What happened to the previous Premium Plus Photo paper?
The new version of Premium Plus photo paper is of poor quality which results in terrible print quality. Prints are dull.
