I use this knife even more than I thought I would. The height of the blade is much shorter than the 6 inch utility knife so it's more like an extra long paring knife. Also, and because of this aspect of its geometry you can use it for really fine, delicate 'finishing' prep. I use it ALL the time for mincing herbs, shallots and garlic. Absolutely LOVE this knife it has quickly become one of my kitchen work horses. Thank you ZWILLING I have been a fan of your Four Star series since the seventies and now have 17 different blade types all of which I use for the tasks they were designed for.
We've used the 3" version for years and branched out to 4" and 5" recently. We use them for daily kitchen odds and ends and like that they are dishwasher compatible.
Little by little we're replacing an old Chicago Cutlery knife set. A couple of years ago I received a Zwilling Pro chef's knife for Christmas and when it came time to shop for a new utility knife and saw this one on sale I purchased it. Not as heavy in the hand as the Pro lineup but my wife loves it for cutting up vegetables, etc. for our Hello Fresh meals. Will likely be purchasing more Zwilling cutlery in the future.
I have several of these knives which I use everyday. They are sharp and stay that way. Great for chopping and dicing. The company stands behind its products. These Zilling knives are the only ones I purchase and use. I have been using them for years. One word of caution: hand wash. A dishwasher will discolor their handles.
