Some good changes some bad
on August 16, 2021

I was excited to get the new colors and functionality, but sadly I had to return it. The new harness is significantly smaller and unusable by larger humans. I wish companies realized that big humans would like access to good outdoor gear too. Over 70% of Americans are overweight, yet companies continue to size them out of their products. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Perfect!

I recently retired. My friends and I have started to bike ride, walk, day hike, and travel. This pack is perfect for all of those activities. I loved mine so much I bought one for my friend and daughter. It is feather weight and works really well for a light jacket, sunglasses, wallet, brush, cellphone, water bottle, keys, and tablet. It looks well on both seniors and young women.

Nice improvement over the older model
on April 24, 2021

I bought this to upgrade from the older model. The biggest improvement of the new version is the water bottle pockets are actually big/deep enough to hold a water bottle. I was tired of things falling out of the older version. Comparing the two side by side, the main compartment on the new one measures about an inch wider, but about an inch shorter. The reservoir sleeve is now on the inside and doubles as the computer sleeve as well. On the older version the reservoir sleeve was on the outside, which I preferred for easier access, and still had the computer sleeve on the inside. The front pocket with organization is about an inch and a half deeper. I preferred the mesh smaller organizer pockets in the old version vs the solid material in the newer version because you could see the smaller items inside easier. The slash pocket is now horizontal vs. vertical which is nice too, just more convenient. The front panel shove it/kangaroo pouch is about an inch deeper as well. I'm pretty sure the foam frame sheet isn't removable anymore despite the description. Overall I think the improvements are solid. I still wish they made the Talon with the 'front pocket with organization' then I wouldn't keep the two different packs. The extra organization in the Daylight is better for travel and day to day, but the Talon is better in the woods. I'd just prefer and combo of the too.

Great Grab and Go bag
on April 20, 2021

I bought this back in 2020 during lockdown with hopes of getting out and using it in the near future. I got my wish this past March. We went to Arizona and hiked all over the place from the Grand Canyon, to Sedona, to different parts of the Sonoran desert. I bought a 3L hydration bladder, too. The combo was great for full days out when I didn't want to refill at random water fountains and be sure the family had enough water for the day. The storage space was big enough to take 2 adult and one kid's puffy jackets when things got warm. The extra kids jacket went through one of the backpack loops. On the plane, the padded laptop area was appreciated. That space is big enough to fit my Surface Pro laptop and an iPad. Bigger devices could fit without a problem, too.

Still needs better hip support
on April 16, 2021

I bought this pack a few years ago for a European trip that never happened and have since used it as a very light few hour hiking pack and around town pack, and recently for plane travel. It looks like they improved the side mesh pockets which would not hold a water bottle in the older model, however, when this pack gets loaded - the hip straps are very uncomfortable! It hangs too heavily on the back and if you use the hip straps to try to weight the pack on your hips - the straps dig into your hips -if they only widened the strap at the connection to the pack and made them more comfortable - I would love this pack as much as I love all my other Osprey packs - choose wisely if you need to load this pack up.

too small for my shoulders

I wanted to use this product to hike on trails and on day outings. The pack despite being the plus model was too small.

Beautiful bag, good but not great for work/school
on February 5, 2023

This bag is thoughtfully designed, high-quality, and the new magnolia print is the most beautiful thing I have seen on a backpack. That's the good stuff. I am 5'4"" but with a long torso, and it feels… weird. I guess it seems long: if I adjust it to ride high, the top handle pinches at my neck/shoulders, but if I let it down it hits uncomfortably at the top of my butt. The other issue is, despite its length, the capacity is pretty small. I should have read more carefully that the ""PLUS"" is still only 20 L. Whoops! Once I put a small laptop (surface pro) and work papers in, there is barely room for my lunch. The bag tapers a bit towards the bottom, so it's not a great fit for rectangular binders/books and the bag can't stand on its own at all. Plus, if I throw my coffee mug and water bottle on the sides it pinches the already cramped interior. It's really not a great fit if you need to carry boring business stuff. Much better for hiking, travel… you know, fun stuff. (It has a laptop sleeve though… so I thought it might work better than it does.) If this bag was 2"" shorter, 5 L larger, and was more flat/square it would work for so many more situations. And please Osprey, we need THAT bag. In the magnolia print. Because it's should be possible to have a gorgeous, functional, and responsibly produced backpack that can still carry the boring stuff.

Great…if I had the right torso height
on December 24, 2022

I liked everything about this backpack except for one thing. When I loaded my usual school supplies in it and put it on, the handle that connects the two straps at the shoulders dug into my spinal cord and hurt. This pack might be great for others, but it definitely did not fit me. My torso height is 16 inches.
