It works as advertised. I do wish it would work on Linux, though.

Software Problem with IronKey
on February 15, 2023

The IronKey drive has a software problem. When your computer goes into sleep mode and then you log back into your computer, your files are no longer accessible from IronKey. If you click on the IronKey exe file nothing happens. You have to go into Task Manager and shut down the IronKey app then go back on click on the IronKey exe to relaunch the app to get to your files. You should be able to just click on the Exe and log in. You shouldn't have to shut it down in Task Manager first.

Thank you for your recent concerns. As previously discussed, the data partition is expected to lock and depending on system settings, USB ports may lose power or be temporarily disabled, thus locking the device. There are security concerns when leaving the data partition unlocked and exposed when the drive is not in use. Generally, the best practice for our drives is to unlock, transfer files and then shut down the drive when not in use. We thank you for your concerns and will further investigate this issue and your use case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Simple to use. Teenager uses it to store ores for classes. Plug and go, so it’s quick for him to get back into. Small enough to carry in your pocket. Notes aren’t too secret so no need for the encryption. But nice touch. 10/10 recommend to strangers and friends. Would make a great tech gift for employees.

Secure storage sensitive data with cloud backup!
on September 5, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using IronKey USB drives for well over 10 years for secure storage of sensitive personal data. Ease of use and compatibility with laptops and desktops with USB ports is a given. Good news is that this drive supports USB 3 and USB 2. The AES 256 encryption ensures data is safe and cannot be accessed even if the physical drive is lost. It is slightly smaller than a disposable cigarette lighter and has a bit of hefty feel to it unlike the others that come in a plastic case and are quite light (comparatively speaking).
When plugged into a laptop, the device shows up as two additional drives - a DVD-RW drive with 92Mb of used space and no free space and a second drive that is not accessible. To use the device, the included software on what is listed as the DVD-RW drive is used to set up the storage device. The process lets the use set up a password/passphrase and makes the storage accessible. This process makes the drive really secure but the other side of the coin is that the drive cannot be shared unless others also install the included software on their laptop/desktop. So, not the ideal device for casual sharing of content but for secure transfers and retention of sensitive data, this is perfect.
There is no way to accidentally lose the data. The included USBtoCloud capability connects the physical USB storage to cloud storage such as OneDrive, Google drive, Box, etc. This cloud connection is available for 5 years after which a paid subscription is needed. I did not set this up as the USB includes personal financial data which I do not want to store in the cloud. Otherwise, this option is really useful. Your data remains accessible on the cloud even if the physical drive is lost.
Overall, a solid drive that ensure safe and secure storage of data with cloud backup option for additional flexibility

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a geek and love to use the most latest gadgets, its a good storage device and really fast, I tried to store a video and it was really quick to store the data I was very impressed. also the encryption was really good and easy to set up. I definitely recommend it as today it is important to use one that's above the rest.

Great Encrypted USB

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really feel like this little guy is secure. Instillation of the USB software is required and you're able to create a admin and sub passwords. Files can be shared to the individual account provided read/write access or restricted. You cannot plug this into any device that dosen't allow for the encryption so it's not somthing I would recommened for presentations. Anything you want to keep secure you keep in here. Backup for your more important programs you don't want to accidentially delete.

Súper secure!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a fairly old laptop with less storage than I would like, and running my applications takes up 90% of my free space. I had next to no room to keep any of my important files but this flash drive was the perfect solution. It’s fast, secure, and has enough space to keep important documents. Not to mention the ability to bring it anywhere!
