Been needing this for awhile

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using this with my new laptop. I no longer need a dongle to connect my thumb drive to my laptop. I like the size and usability of this thumb drive. I am using this for school to store smaller files like slide shows and documents. I recommend this product as it has not given me any issues. I would buy again.

Excellent flash drive!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really good one, the set up is easy. It looks sturdy and well built. You have the option to setup a password or a pass phrase during the initial setup. It's AES 256 encrypted and great to store passwords and crypto keys. Works with both Windows and Mac. 8 Gb is more than enough for your regular needs. Also you get 10 tries before it formats the drive, pretty secure in my opinion. Definitely recommend it.

Secure storage sensitive data with cloud backup!
on September 5, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using IronKey USB drives for well over 10 years for secure storage of sensitive personal data. Ease of use and compatibility with laptops and desktops with USB ports is a given. Good news is that this drive supports USB 3 and USB 2. The AES 256 encryption ensures data is safe and cannot be accessed even if the physical drive is lost. It is slightly smaller than a disposable cigarette lighter and has a bit of hefty feel to it unlike the others that come in a plastic case and are quite light (comparatively speaking).
When plugged into a laptop, the device shows up as two additional drives - a DVD-RW drive with 92Mb of used space and no free space and a second drive that is not accessible. To use the device, the included software on what is listed as the DVD-RW drive is used to set up the storage device. The process lets the use set up a password/passphrase and makes the storage accessible. This process makes the drive really secure but the other side of the coin is that the drive cannot be shared unless others also install the included software on their laptop/desktop. So, not the ideal device for casual sharing of content but for secure transfers and retention of sensitive data, this is perfect.
There is no way to accidentally lose the data. The included USBtoCloud capability connects the physical USB storage to cloud storage such as OneDrive, Google drive, Box, etc. This cloud connection is available for 5 years after which a paid subscription is needed. I did not set this up as the USB includes personal financial data which I do not want to store in the cloud. Otherwise, this option is really useful. Your data remains accessible on the cloud even if the physical drive is lost.
Overall, a solid drive that ensure safe and secure storage of data with cloud backup option for additional flexibility

Software Problem with IronKey
on February 15, 2023

Verified Purchase:Yes
The IronKey drive has a software problem. When your computer goes into sleep mode and then you log back into your computer, your files are no longer accessible from IronKey. If you click on the IronKey exe file nothing happens. You have to go into Task Manager and shut down the IronKey app then go back on click on the IronKey exe to relaunch the app to get to your files. You should be able to just click on the Exe and log in. You shouldn't have to shut it down in Task Manager first.

Thank you for your recent concerns. As previously discussed, the data partition is expected to lock and depending on system settings, USB ports may lose power or be temporarily disabled, thus locking the device. There are security concerns when leaving the data partition unlocked and exposed when the drive is not in use. Generally, the best practice for our drives is to unlock, transfer files and then shut down the drive when not in use. We thank you for your concerns and will further investigate this issue and your use case.

Great USB

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I take classes on the weekend at my community college. This little USB is the perfect tool for me. I like to save my reports on here and take it to the library to print. It's fast and pretty simple to use. I just drag and drop my files onto there and print. It's a nice blue color and even comes with a little string so I can attach it to my key chain.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome USB flashdrive for security and also quick and easy to use. It's password protected so your data and files are safe and secure which is necessary for my husband who's using it to store confidential client information. It has plenty of storage space at 8GB and he says he has used it with both his Windows and Mac with no issue. Great device for anyone who needs or wants to protect certain data.

Secure USB

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This usb drive has encrypted security which is very useful when you have something private to save. It can be locked with password for security. However, I would be very careful as forgetting the password may lead to losing the data stored. It looks pretty too, I carry it in my keychain all the time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everyone uses these! This one is cute and compact. Fits great in your pocket. It is also very durable and will not be crushed by other items in your pocket or purse. It is multi password. It is 8gb and holds lots of items. Great for college kids gift ideas. Has a cute lanyard with it to attach to things or to hide.
