Great value (open box stock); great bass.

Wow! Night and day compared to the cheap "subwoofer" I was temporarily using from my now surplus 2.1 PC speakers. This thing thumps...in a good way. Looks new, same warranty and return policy as new, sounds great, and I saved $170 because it was open box stock. It easily, if not annoyingly, rattles the venetian blinds in my office during the deep bass passages in Joni Mitchell's soulful remake of "Both Sides Now" and that's with the subwoofer set at half volume and the lower frequency settings on the PC's graphic equalizer turned down about 3 db from their previous settings.
Listening to Ronan Keating's version of "Both Sides Now" and the subwoofer is too thumpy with even the revised graphic equalizer settings. Love it.
NOTE: The subwoofer thumps loudly when turned on and when waking up from sleep mode. This isn't a flaw and I believe many subwoofers behave this way. Not an issue for me but it that's going to annoy you, go for a different product.

Stopped working after a year

Started working intermittently after a year under limited use. Now just doesn't work. Powers up but no boom. Under warranty but have to ship out to the closest dealer 200kms away at my cost. Won't buy Klipsch again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Rocky Balboa Sub Woofer

Don't let the size fool you this sub packs a serious punch and will knock out bigger units...nice rich sound and marries well with my RP 600 ms and Yamaha Amp...Nice build quality as well...would recommend.

Returned Open Box for New Subwoofer

I bought the open box version of this subwoofer but returned it after the new ones went on sale for $30 less than the open box price about a week later. The open box version made a loud thump when being turned on or waking from sleep mode, which I thought was normal. The new one does not make the loud thump. I read on the Klipsch website that other customers have experienced the thump so I'm not sure if it's a random bug or related to specific batches. Anyway, I'm very happy with the new subwoofer and for $199.99, it's an excellent, hard-to-beat value.

Great subwoofer for the money. Especially when Best Buy had it on sale for $150.00 off. Perfect for a smaller room but I think it would also work in a bigger room too. Love the auto on feature. I also love that the speaker points towards the floor so I don't have to look at that ugly copper colour speaker. Thats one thing that always kept me from buying Klipsch.
