Sterilite 1413 Stack And Carry 3 Tier Storage Box

I bought this box several years ago to organize hand sewing items. This box is just fantastic. I can remove and just use the color organizer tray or take all three sections with me. I can leave one section home and choose to carry just two sections. Love the clear sides so I can see what’s in each layer. I’m here looking to buy a couple more to store artist watercolor paints and craft supplies. Had used a famous company art tote box and really prefer these (at a fraction of the cost too!). This well thought out box is one if my most favorite organizers I’ve ever bought. I’ve dropped it a couple times and didn’t crack or break. It’s been very durable. It holds so much more than it looks too. Just the right size for multiple sewing and pinking sheers. Going to try combining sets to see if I can stack 4 or 5 trays from two different sets together as one unit. Looks very much like that will be possible. Highly recommend!! Great bang for your buck!

I use the Stack & Carry 3 Layer Handle Box & Tray to store my needlework tools. I used to have the knitting needles, crochet hooks, large sewing needles, measuring tape and all of the other items that I use to knit and crochet in different places all over my house as I did not have a way to store them all in one place - but now I do. I keep this unit in my office where it is handy for me to access when I am watching tv and crocheting or knitting.

These stack and carry storage boxes is a great invention..i couldnt go on with out them..i keep my small sewing and craft items in them like needles, scissors,, clips, beads,,wire for bead crafts..etc,,they are GREAT... AND JUST THE RIGHT SIZE FOR SOMEONE HANDICAP LIKE ME WHO HAS TROUBLE WITH THERE HANDS.....THANKS FOR INVENTING THESE ADORABLE STORAGE CONTAINERS

Beyond usefull

I love my 3 layer handle box. It holds everything I need in just the organizational way I need it. It does not take up a lot of space, yet holds alot. All little items stay put and I can carry it anywhere I want to go. If you need a great portable organizational holder for many little or mid sized items, this is your box. It seals tight which is also a bonus.

Best Sewing Box I've ever had...

I could probably find hundreds of uses for the Stack and Carry sets, but my favorite is as a Sewing Box, and it's by far the best system I've found to organize and easily move my sewing supplies.
Also, I bought a set for my daughter to use for her smaller Lego sets. The bigger size Stack and Carry is great for her larger Lego sets.
It's a nice feature that they can be used with or without the divided tray organizers. Also, the hinges and handles are very well made! All around great product. Highly recommend!

It breaks

The clear tab onto which the blue handles clip ... well, it breaks off. And the container(s) under it falls to the ground. This happened for the first time after only about 35 "lift and go" motions in and out of my car. They were not heavily loaded, just soft pastel chalks.
Looking at the clear tab it's pretty obvious that it's under-engineered - it should be twice as wide and have some reinforcing buttresses underneath. It's about 1/10 the sturdiness of the blue handles.
It's a pity. I was going to standardize on these otherwise excellent containers. But the (somewhat expensive) mess in my driveway was not acceptable.
Attached is a picture of the kind of tab that breaks. It's clear how small it is compared to the brawny blue handles that clip onto it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Solid product

Own 2, and they are well suited for what they are designed for. My only gripe is that they are all the same depth. I would love very much to see various depths and even a modular system. We could even add one stack with drawers. I would really love to see this latch and carry system be developed further.
