- durable
- clear view good depth for small items
- love the latch open and shut many times and still snug
- great thickness on plastic

These containers are great! They are clear so you can see what you have stored in them. They are also sturdy. We use them to store toys in. They have survived our boys for a year. That qualifies them as sturdy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I teach preschool, and these smaller containers are an organizing must! I have so many different toys, teaching materials and supplies, these containers make them easy to find and are easy for the children to access as well.

I have been using these 6 qt containers for a few years & they help keep me organized. First Aid items, prescriptions, nail polish & foot creams, batteries, ink cartridges, maps - any like items that can be stored together. They're sturdy, so stackable & I love the security of the latch. I put a label on the front of each & my husband or grand kids can find things quickly.
My only complaint is I can't seem to find them in the stores.

It all started a few months ago when my Mom brought a box of these boxes home from a hardware store. (Don't think I am supposed to name names so I won't.) I saw them and thought "okay... more pointless boxes." Then I started using them. They turned out to be amazing for storing all manner of things related to electronics. I used a dozen within three days. My parents saw and I told them that I would like more. I used them all very quickly. Perfect size, very durable and endlessly useful. The lids are also dry-erase friendly and so you can label everything. (Pro-tip: Use a dry-erase marker on the outside of the lid and then flip it over. Use the dry erase marker on the inside and then you have a dry-erase label that wont get rubbed off my people holding the outside of the box.)

I am obsessed with these boxes, and have well over a hundred of them in my home business workshop to organize hardware, component parts, work in process, office supplies, and everything else except money!
I dumped all the old cardboard 'bin boxes' I used for years in favor of these boxes. They keep everything clean and easy to find plus even the boxes several years old have not yellowed under daily fluorescent light. The lids do not easily pop off when carried and when the lid is removed and flipped over its lip it makes it into a quick and convenient tray for sorting or counting the box contents.. Twelve of these boxes fit perfectly on a 48" wire rack shelf and by double stacking that's a lot of high density storage.
Our label printer prints a label that fits right on the end, below the latch. If you label both box ends the contents are always identified even if the box is put back backwards.
These boxes are really tough, and some of mine have a lot of heavy hardware stored in them without a problem. If you drop one, and it cracks, it usually doesn't self destruct, so it may still have limited life for other uses.
HINT:
If you use the common 48" x 18" wire rack, keep the boxes from sliding back by fastening a wood strip to the shelf to stop the box then use that 'wasted' shelf space for bulk or back up stock!

Well, sure, there's always a down side.....
I can't keep empty ones on hand very long since people keep 'borrowing' them for other uses!

Awesome shoebox !

We pack operation Christmas Shoeboxes every year. these are not only durable but we can get a lot of items in them as well! The locking hinge cover allows us to keep them secure and in the box. They are shipped all over and the kids getting them are overjoyed. '

I bought this at the local Odd Lots store based on the size description on the label. Unfortunately, the size description does not state the size on the label are the outside dimensions. I am not sure why they would not label dimensions of the outside when we would clearly use the inside portion of the container. As you can see, even the sticker that gives the "non annotated" outside diameters are not correct. Recommendation is to annotate inside dimensions as that would be the storage measurements we need. Do you have a container that is 14" length with 4" width?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello, thanks for contacting Sterilite. As an industry standard we provide outside dimensions to ensure the consumer knows where the product will fit after purchase. The length is going to be from the widest point which is 14 1/8"L. Inside dimensions are 11 5/8"L x 6 1/8"W x 4 5/8"H.
We currently do not offer a product with those specific requested dimensions but we do offer the 15 Qt ClearView Latch Box which has inside dimensions of 14"L x 9 1/8"W x 6 1/8"H.
