It's a workstation laptop. (a good one)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Yes, its a workstation laptop. That means it's heavy, the thermals are pushed to their limits (under load the CPU gets to 100c), and the battery life isnt great (about 3-4 hours max). The performace is fantastic for a laptop though, and so if that's what youre after, the affromentioned compromises are one's youre gonna have to make regardless of what brand you buy from IMO. 4k resolution in a screen this small looks phenominal. I wish the IO had display port, but other than that nothing to complain about.

It Could Be Good For You Depending On Your Needs

OK. This is the first Lenovo laptop I've purchased. I ordered it with Windows 11 Pro, a 2 TB SSD drive, 64 GB RAM, and an 8 GB video card to approximate the power and speed of my former desktop tower. The laptop itself is heavy, but since it's being used a desktop power replacement that's an acceptable tradeoff. I've noticed that the cooling vents on the bottom seem to start to get covered with dust fairly quickly; that will mean that I'll want to blow away the dust once monthly with compressed air. *Now, a very important bit you'll want to read about Lenovo's ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Smart Dock. This is my exact review shown on the website where I purchased the dock, and is about the dock: Using Lenovo's own tech recommendations and support, this dock was connected to a *new* ThinkPad. I've had lots of problems with it. The displays sometimes freeze and I can't log in. And from a cold start to (two 27" HD) working displays takes 4 to 5 minutes, when it actually works without incident. Today when I came back to my desk after being away from several hours, only one of the two displays present was working. The machine had to be rebooted so the dock would show the second display. The only reason I’ll keep the dock and try and work with it is because Lenovo won’t have any excuses to try and point to another company’s dock as a source of any problems.

Wannabe gamers attempt at designing a workstation.

Lenovo deleted my review from earlier so I'll post again. A workstation without lan port is not a workstation it's an insult to professional. Whoever designed this abomination of a brick doesn't understand what a workstation is.

Lenovo deletes negative reviews.

from I'd rather not say
Lenovo deletes all negative reviews. And there are many shortcomings of this laptop. I follow this laptop closely, as I have owned several previous versions, and several of other P laptops. Yes, I know that technically P16gen1 is like the first version, but it is just the upgrade of P15 and P50 before that. Anyway, compared to previous generation, this laptop is a downgrade. And even the previous one lacked many advanced features. I could go into details, but this will be deleted anyway. Read the reviews on other sites that do not censor negative reviews.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Lenovo P16 workstation has been a blessing in my household duties and can be a great advantage to any cad design I desire to do in the future.. great work station snd very easy to work on .. using the Lenovo tutorials had been way to understand all the features available to me.. thanks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Rugged and crazy fast. Best laptop I have ever owned and I have own a bunch. I put Ubuntu Linux on it and I now zings.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this for a client needing a mobile workstation for revit and 3D modeling applications. I only had limited use during setup and deployment but for the little bit of time i used it i really liked it.
It has a screen typical of Lenovo which is a more matte finish and not as clean or bright as other laptops however it is responsive and easy on the eyes...
The keyboard and trackpad were both very nice and smooth. The large trackpad was responsive and did not seem to miss much when moving around and the keyboard keys feel robust and smooth without being clunky or cheap feeling so that i really liked.
The only thing i can say that i wasn't expecting was the weight of this beast. It is certainly a thick machine and heavier than most but for a workstation it is to be expected... I did get used to the weight and feel of it after the first day so that i think was just being used to typical slim and light laptops.
Overall i thought it was a great choice for the price, and i am a big lenovo fan so it is nice to see their quality and durability still being top notch even in a cost effective workstation setup... Although my use of this one was limited i will keep in touch with the client as they begin to use it daily and update this review if possible as i get more real world feedback on it from the field.
