Finally upgraded my 2019 Instinct for the 2X Solar and am very happy I did.
Extremely accurate, long life battery, and lots more info/features than the original Instict.
It’s been almost nonstop cloudy/rainy here in NewEngland since I got the watch in late May ‘23, so can’t really vouch for the solar charging, but when the sun has been shining it seems to work great.

Great, except for the heart rate issue

I love the watch, all of the functions are as good or better than my original Instinct. The heart rate monitor on the other hand, falls short. It seems to have a lot of trouble giving me readings throughout the day. I never had this issue with my original. That's really the only gripe I have. It's kind of an important one though.

Disappointing band width/presence.

Overall, I am happy with both the Whitestone Instinct 2X and Black Tactical Instinct 2X, but when you state a 26mm band width in your specs, it should be a consistent 26mm band width. In reality, both pieces are delivered with 26mm near the face that decrease to 22mm (just like my previous first edition instincts) band. The increased face size demands an equally impressive band size. I would encourage you to consider a consistent 26mm band width to create better balance with device face.

Solid choice

Much improved over the instinct 2 and miles ahead of the original Instinct in terms of features. Larger screen is a big improvement over the smaller versions but some colour would be nice and a huge upgrade (instinct 3 perhaps?) Flashlight is actually pretty handy and gets used every night. Would love if this watch also had stamina feature and the new endurance score. Also wanted to mention that if you get a nylon strap it brings the weight from 67grams to 52 grams - same ad the smaller instinct 1 or 2!

Great health metrics

At first navigating the watch was a little difficult but after a few days I got used to it. The watch has great health metrics that have actually helped me in getting better sleep by listing to the recommendations. I also follow the recovery time after a hard workout and notice feeling more energized. I'm very satisfied with the functionality of the watch and its features. The torch (light) has come in handy more times than I thought it would and the battery life is far better than any other smart watch that I've had. I look forward to using this watch for as long as it lasts. Thanks for a great product.

Love the minimalism

Have a Fenix 7 Solar, great watch no doubt, the best in the market, but I loved the look of the Instinct since they came out, have an old one. So, when this one came out, with almost the same functions, had to buy it and try it out. Had it for a month, and it is a great watch, exactly what I as looking for, light, lots of functions, and the retro minimalist look. It is a bit big, but do not feels like it. I usually wear my Garmin only while doing activities, then I switch to mechanical watches, but this one has debunked all them all.

Great Smart Watch

I just got this watch a few weeks ago and I really haven’t had to charge it. I am currently on the road and changing time zones is easy. Hit the GPS. The workout options are great and accurate. It’s very comfortable to wear. I have recommended it to several people already. I love not having to charge it everyday. It’s just like a real watch only better.
It tracks extremely well. I love the review of the workouts on the Garmin Connect App. It gives me what I need to see my progress. Again, the workouts available are very good, as I do a variety of workouts.
I do wish that it would give you VO2 Max for a walk or hike. That’s my only minor issue.
