Garmin Instinct 2x Solar

I've been a big fan of this watch thus far. At first I thought I wouldn't like the fact it wasn't a touch screen, but as soon as I got used to the push button interface. It's been a breeze cycling through the different features and applications on the watch. As of yet I've used the watch very basically. Using it to tell time and to keep track of basic fitness analytics. There's a whole host of features and applications on this watch, I just haven't found a practical reason to use many of them yet. Two feature that I I love though are the solar charging and the built-in flashlight. With the solar charging I almost never have to charge this watch. As long as I expose it to enough sunlight each day it stays charged no problem. With the solar charging you are able to see how much solar energy the watch is exposed to. This allows you to determine wether or not if the sunlight is sufficient enough to charge your watch or if you should charge it using the cable. With the built-in flashlight it has come in handy many times, and surprisingly it has very good light output considering its size. As for the watch itself I've been very happy with the fit and the build quality of it. I hate to admit it but I'm somewhat clumsy person and it seems with past watches I've owned . I can be a bit ruff on them, whether that be bumping them into walls, scratching the watch face, getting the band snagged on things and a host of other incidents. Thankfully thought this watch has been able to withstand my abuse, and has held up very well. As for the fit of the watch, it's larger size is perfect for my larger wrist. Unfortunately I would say if you have smaller wrist this watch may not be right for you. All-in-all I have been very happy with this watch, and would recommend to just about anyone in the market for a smartwatch.

Love This Watch

Originally from the East Coast but just moved to Montana. Originally, I was running with the 245 music and loved it. With the move to a more rugged environment and lots more trail miles, an upgrade was needed. Absolutely stoked with everything this watch offers. Activities are plentiful and the flashlight is a game changer.

I love this watch even more than my original Instinct that I wore faithfully for 3 years. Some of the best “new” features for me (other than solar, of course): 1. Connect IQ access - really improves the options for customizing the watch for my needs. 2. My experience this winter is that the downhill ski feature is MUCH improved. Only once did it misread a lift/run transition. 3. (Surprisingly) the built-in flashlight. It is perfect for those times when you need a little light but don’t need the hassle of carrying a headlamp with you. OVERALL: Absolutely worth the money.

hard to re-pair with phone

Had this watch for several years then yesterday it forgot my phone. The instructions were truly awful. Garmin products work flawlessly when set up, but if they go down, the user is in trouble.

Confusing.

I bought this watch as a heart monitor. When I sleep my pulse goes way up. When I'm awake my pulse comes normal. Maybe I'm wearing the watch backwards.

Great all around watch

I do a lot of walking as well as 5k and 10k races. I use this watch for both my daily training and my competition. My favorite features of the watch include the built in flashlight as well as solar charging. The GPS locks on very quickly and is very accurate. The arch can be used, in my opinion, by both beginners and experts.
