Instinct 2x solar

This helps track my training. It's customizable to the activities I engage in, and it lets me save my performances, so I can monitor progress. The solar charging reduces the frequency of charging; I'm not sure it will charge the watch on its own, but it seems to slow battery discharge enough that I only have to charge it infrequently.

Great Watch

I have had this watch for 3 months now and have worn it every day since I bought it. The torch feature, while it may seem gimmicky is actually very useful especially when camping etc. The only issue that I have had with the watch is that the weather function is not super accurate compared to a Fenix or other watch but still gets the job done. Even though the weather isn't accurate it is still within a couple of degrees of the actual temperature.

Solid watch, not best.

I work in Law Enforcement, and loved this watch at the beginning. It has taken a beating and keeps on ticking. After about a year, the battery started to drain noticeably faster. I work outside in the Florida sun all day. The solar portion, which I feel like you pay extra for, appeared to do nothing to increase battery life. The watch is right at 3 years old, and now it turns off and needs a charge whenever it hits 65%. I understand it is not perfect, but the heart rate monitor was super accurate, until instartes to sweat or workout. Then, it was hit or miss if it was even close. I like the watch but thinking of upgrading, as the Instinct 2 is out, or possibly changing companies. I love Garmin, but I need more for this kind of money.

Extremely Helpful

I work as a Wildland Firefighter so being able to have this level of information on my wrist in remote locations has greatly served me. I specifically bought the 2X Solar for the added battery life given the times when I am far from a charger which has proven invaluable.
I would recommend this watch to any avid hiker, mountaineer, wildland firefighter, our outdoor enthusiast. If you don't find yourself in prolonged times in the bush then I would recommend the standard version instead.

Excellent Upgrade

Hasn't failed me yet, is a big leap from my original instinct. I'm using the red light more than I thought I would. Tracks workouts great, and sends HR data to my Garmin 830. Battery life is amazing!

Endless battery life

Exactly what I wanted as a rugged watch - it will last more than 30 days for normal use as a watch/step counter/heartrate monitor. Plenty of useful activity tracking options and the built-in LED is very handy when needing a quick light source. I've taken a few falls and scrapes while wearing this and its holding up well to the punishment.

Only reason I didn't give it a 10, was that the menu options aren't real intuitive and if you don't use it often, can take a bit of exploring to find what you need. But hey, taking your time is what life in the outdoors is all about, so still gave it a 9.

Love this watch for trail runs have used it on plenty of training runs and planning on making it my race watch love the watch size the side buttons are easy to navigate while moving a major factor i love the voice it tells you everything you need to know no need to look down and switch what screen your looking at I've always used garmins so can't compare to other brands but personally I wouldn't go with anther
