Bought this replace an Apple Watch wanted better battery life so far this watch has that hands down. Much harder to learn how to use features though- doesn’t come with a manual or any quick step help- downloaded manual- over 100 pages
Hoping I can call for a tutorial as it’s going very slow for me

Garmin makes a very good watch stable. This is my 3 Garmin I have bought. It's a really sweet watch.

Flashlight and solar charge a must

Bought this after shattering the screen to my instinct first gen and it is a great upgrade!
I’m always fixing this in dark spaces in my truck or under an appliance and the flashlight is a great feature that I use at least 4 times a week. I had to charge the instinct I had 3-4 times a week due to the amount of notifications I get.
This watch I’ve only had to charge once in a month since having it and that was getting it out the box. It’s great!

Garmin Instinct 2X Solar slow to upload/sync

Had the watch a few weeks. Shipped as described. Bought for extended battery life with extra solar charging. Tons of data, records everything you can imagine. The only issue is it syncs a lot slower than my Instinct solar 1st generation. After only a 45 minute run it takes 4-5 minutes to upload the run and usually takes 2 tries to upload to the phone.

It’s better than the Apple Watch in some ways

Gonna start with looks. This is a very nice watch if you like that rugged look which I do. It’s light and fits well. The band is fairly decent and comfortable. It has a ton of features. The activity selection is outstanding. As I am a climber it has those activities where the Apple Watch does not. Navigating the UI is somewhat difficult and confusing. It is hard to tell if an activity has been stopped or started. There have been some instances where it did not log my hikes or exercise. The buttons take a bit to figure out. Thank goodness for YouTube. It needs a color screen as it is difficult to see a lot of the time. You can set up the brightness but it doesn’t really help in some daylight situations. It connects with my iPhone better than my Apple Watch SE did. The biggest thing is the connection with the Garmin Connect app. That is the bomb. Huge cuddos to Garmin for that. The battery. Well, this is one of the main reasons I switched to this watch. As a fire fighter I spend quite a bit of time in the field. When in bigger wildland fires it can be extended for some time and the Apple Watch just doesn’t cut it. It lasts a day and then it has to be recharged. This Instinct however is solar and should last me at least a couple of weeks. It was the main reason for the switch. So far it has been pretty good. It’s a good voice so far but I think I will look at the Fenix in the near future if some changes are made to that. The Instinct however is a winner in my opinion.
