The metal is easily malleable so be careful with it. It does look great though. Works makes the kitchen more modern.

When we moved into our house, the kitchen was pretty awful. And we updated everything except for the dreadful, massive metal range hood than dominated the space, was impossible to clean, overhung the island and caused no small number of head injuries because of that. We just didn't think it could be done. Then, the installer working on another area of our kitchen told us he could do it. I researched all the Island range hoods and this one repeatedly was favored. Got a great deal on it during Amazon Day. Installation happened yesterday, cooking commenced shortly afterward and I was astonished by how well it worked and yes, how beautiful it looked. The LED lights look MUCH better than the fluorescents on the old hood. And the timer, which keeps the hood on for as long as you decide, once, say, I'm done cooking but want to clear the air while we sit down to eat, will be very nice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We purchased this product for the looks and also the price. The only con is that the metal plate was missing the hole to run the power cord through. We have yet to try it and see how it works.
