It has better motor action and is more sturdy and has not quit working. I also really love the tweezers with the built in light that it came with... they work great!

I received this product in exchange for review. I felt this was fine for fine hair trimming, like on your face, but trying to trim courser hair this seemed to struggle and did not give an even trim. It performed as well as similar products on the market.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: not very powerful

I received a free sample of this trimmer and really enjoyed it. Having never used an electric trimmer, but having always been interested in one, this has been a great experience. I will admit figuring out how to take one and off the different heads took a little longer than I expected, but it was worth it. My hair came off evenly and I will certainly use this over shaving certain smaller areas of my body (and perhaps face). I like the pouch that comes with it too for easy storing and making it less likely that I will lose a piece. Overall, besides the taking a little longer to put together, I think this product is worth purchasing.

I DID NOT RECEIVE THIS PRODUCT FOR FREE. All of the reviews I read on here these people received the product for free to write an "unbiased" review and they all talk about using this product on their faces? That doesn't make sense so I'm giving my detailed review and suggestions below!
I purchased this product (in blue) when I was 23 years old. I'm now 30 and STILL use it. A testament to the durability, effectiveness and longevity of this product.
It comes with various attachments so I will review each one:
Large trimmer head - I use this one the most. I started by using the guard attachments for safety as I became used to the trimmer but they were bulky so now I never use the plastic guards. Some people might feel more comfortable using the guards (I have knicked myself a couple times but literally only twice in the span of 7 years of use - I'm just very careful and take my time!).
Small trimmer head - this might be what everyone in those other reviews are using. It is small and precise enough that I might use it on my face if I had thick eyebrows and wanted to remove some of the edges but I don't recommend it for your face until you get used to it. I used this small trimmer to do detail work down below ...like etching out a star or triangle (but it was too much work so now I never use this attachment).
Epilator attachment - this is the other one I use the most!!! I use this on my bikini line only (too painful for the whole thing) and on my armpits. This. Is. The. Best. I actually recently started using this attachment on my upper lip. Hurts like the Dickens but you get used to it. It could also work on the peach fuzz some people have on their faces (cheeks, jawline) but I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT around your hairline or eyebrows. .. Unless you want to get rid of your brows in a torturous way and rip your hair out, damage your scalp and have a permanent depilatory accessory attached to your head. Yikes. Also it is kinda scary this one but you get used to the noise and the more you use it the easier it is to pull out the hairs so it doesn't hurt as much. It's super painful at first though - be warned! But I still use this attachment and love it.
Shaver with metal guard - useless. I use a 4 blade manual razor for getting a close shave anywhere.
Brush and tweezers - always use the brush to clean out the hairs. I don't use the tweezers much but my tweezers I got in my kit have a little light and a case with a mirror! Super cool so I keep these in my travel bag. Not sure if they provide those anymore.
Glove - I personally don't use gloves I use straight from the sea loofahs to exfoliate my whole body but if you have sensitive skin the glove might prove useful to you. I never used it.
Case and charger - the case is great for storage and travel. The charger doesn't tell you if it's charged but if you leave it plugged in too long it will overheat so keep an eye. I think a full charge takes about 2 hours but I've never timed it.
The product I purchased 7 years ago did not use batteries. I have read reviews on here that say they used it on their face and it comes with a battery...I think they reviewed the wrong product!!
This trimmer is rechargeable. Do not charge when wet! (Common sense but the charging contact points might fill with water so if you're not careful you could damage this product or risk electrical shock).
I take this trimmer into the shower with me and use it while the shower is going and rinse as I go because even the "large" trimmer head is very small for precision so it gets clogged with hair quick. Always use caution and turn it off when cleaning out hair (common sense but some people forget).
Overall I use 2/4 attachments from this thing but I've used them for the past 7 years, so I'm not mad about it! It was worth every penny and I'm sure it's paid itself off more than a few times over compared to paying for waxing services for just regular maintenance. I use this product regularly to keep things trimmed and tamed down there!
If I go on a beach vacation I would probably just pay for a wax ahead of time simply because I then don't need to worry about hair removal while I'm trying to enjoy my vacation.
But for those who have sensitive skin and can't wax this is definitely the best alternative! And if you want full hair removal this product helps trim things down so you can get in there with a manual razor.
Pros: rechargeable, waterproof can use in the shower not tub, fits snugly in hand easy to manoeuvre
Cons: has 2 heads i never use, recharge each time

I picked up this product after searching for a dermaplane device and being unsuccessful. The trimmer was cost effective and did EXACTLY what it says it will do. I would rate it 5 stars if you could get replacement blades. Happy with the results.

It is terrible, and I had to cut open the package, so I will not be able to return it to the store. Less than one star.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review. It is very unfortunate to hear you did not have a good experience with our Precision trimmer. This must be quite inconvenient for you. Allow us to offer some trouble shootings for this. Please make sure the appliance is properly cleaned after every usage since hair can get inside the unit and affect its performance. Moreover, please make sure the batteries are working properly. Perhaps getting a new AAA battery can help. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact us on Facebook (@Philips) or Twitter (@PhilipsCare). We'll be happy to help.

This works fine, but the battery stopped holding charge after a couple of years.
