Good for music but not for phone calls

People say they hear me really bad on calls and I don't hear them the best if I get a call right after listening to music. But not bad at all for music
I've had mine for a around 2 years, maybe a year and a half, and they're not horrible, but I definitely have a few complaints. The biggest one, is that the material around the buttons is very easily worn away by any kind of sharpness. My last pair of similar earbuds had reversed controls, so I would feel for the buttons with my nail to make sure I'm pressing the right one (especially since the buttons are not well defined), and after about 8 months I started noticing indentations on the buttons, I procrastinated doing anything about it, then after a few more months the material was all but gone, leaving all of the wiring completely exposed. The buttons still work just fine, but I have been wrapping the area in electrical tape to protect it from water, otherwise I'm sure they'd be long gone and broken.
My other complaints are far more mild. Every time you skip a song it beeps, you cannot turn off the beep, and the song is still faintly playing in the background before it beeps and skips it. There is only one low battery warning, and it is at 20%, which means there is still 5 hours of use, it does not give you any warnings/reminders if you are forgetful 5 hours later. My last complaint is how they get so STIFF in the cold. I'm in the prairies, it gets cold here, and if it's anything below -10C then the wires get stiff as a board, and feel like they could easily snap if I tried. This stiffness often means they pop out anytime I look down, because there's no flex to account for the movement.
I'd be giving them a 2 1/2 if I could, because overall they're pretty decent, the audio is nice, the microphone is much better than the my previous earbuds ones, and the price isn't horrible. Would I recommend them? Probably not? If you're desperate for a pair like these, sure, but you have to be willing to baby the buttons, and not care too much about immersion being broken when you skip a song
For the price and what’s out there, there are far better options. I bought these as a gift because is was just one piece. In case they fell asleep and they fell out, they would be easier to find. Ie Bus, jogging etc. I would rather get another brand. Sony is not the same as it once was. These are like dollar store buds. Not impressed!!! Will try to take back.
I bought these for gym workout and am really impressed with both the sound quality and how long the battery hold a charge! For such a reasonable price, the sound quality exceeded my expectations.
This is the second pair of these I have owned. They work great, have a good range and are very durable. My first pair finally had one side stop working so I ordered a new pair online. Didn't want to risk trying some new unknown that might have not been as good.
I feel that the Sony wic100 is a waste of money. The sound is tinny. This was a gift. The person I bought it for had another pair like these that were a lot better. Sony you dropped the ball on these. Very disappointed. Will buy from another brand in the future.
This is my third pair of this type of earphones. I really like them as they are not attached to my phone but have a cord that fits around the back of the neck so I don’t lose them. The completely un corded earbuds simply do not work for me. I turned the earphones on and off regularly and adjust volume regularly and I find after 2 to 3 years the buttons give up. Notwithstanding trying other earphones. I keep going back to these as they suit me the best.
