Love these bottles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this baby bottle set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Baby is 5 months old, mostly breastfed, bottlefed a couple times each day. She is actually still on the first flow nipple and perhaps we will move her up to the second flow now that we have these. No leaks at her mouth, nipple valve, nor bottle neck.
I love the anti drip tip. Milk doesn't leak out before baby latches, less to no mess to clean up.
Easy to clean and sterilize. I don't own a sterilizer and don't prefer microwave sterilization, so I boil parts whenever possible. I'm 100% comfortable boiling glass to sterilize. The bottle, collar, and nipple were all boiled for 5 minutes and didn't sustain any damage or deformity. Love that there are only 3 parts to the bottle. Hand-washing is simple if you have a bottle brush.
Baby isn't quite drinking more than 4 oz yet, so we'll probably hold off on continuing to use these until she's a little older. Husband is more comfortable holding the larger bottle over the 4 oz bottle.
I wish Philips included a sleeve protector with their glass bottle bundles. Especially with the 8 oz bottles, I've had a bottle slip from my hands unto my quartz counter or into the sink with NO damage, but older babies are more likely to use this size and are also more grabby and can throw with more force. Not a big deal and these bottles will fit nicely into a drink cozy if you need the comfort of a cushion.

Love this glass bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m so thankful to have received these glass bottles through the stellar product testing panel! As a mama that tends to stick to more natural products, I loved this glass bottle! The fit of the lid to the bottle left no leaks and was so easy to put together! In the past I have had glass bottles with many extra parts that would leak without them, and tended to be a pain. But these were so simple and easy to use! My baby was able to latch very easily, and she’s a picky one! Also, the contoured middle helped her grip and hold the bottle herself! Out of the many glass bottles I’ve tried, I would definitely recommend this one again!

LOVE the Glass bottle HATE the nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby bottle. The glass bottle itself is very nice and durable! It was easy to hold and grasp and the numbers were easy to read and see. I love the fact that it’s glass because it makes me feel better about warming my breast milk inside it. I definitely would recommend the glass bottle! Unfortunately, the new Avent nipples are no good. It usually takes my daughter like 7 minutes to finish a bottle but with the new nipples it took 30 minutes. Way too long. So the concept of the nipple is good but does not work. My bottle pack did not come with a silicone sleeve but definitely would have been nice and useful with glass!

Thank you very much for sharing your experience and your feedback. It is greatly appreciated. We're glad to hear you like the bottle itself and the design of it. We will forward the rest of your feedback to the development team as they are always trying to imrpove on the products.
As for the new design of the nipple; it's designed to be more natural to the baby. Milk will only come out if they are actively drinking, as is with natural breastfeeding. That can cause your little one to take a little longer. We hope she will get used to it in the future.

Wonderful at first

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] this has been our favorite bottle since our youngest was born last year, but it has one MAJOR flaw. After a couple months, the bottles start to leak HUGE amounts of milk out of the sides. I’m guessing it happens after washing a certain amount of times because the glass or plastic cap changes shape slightly with the heat. I kept buying new bottles because we love them so much, but honestly wish there was an easier way to just replace the lids or something. The bottles aren’t cheap. So it’s a huge bummer replacing them so often. We were sent this bottle by Stellar Product Testing panel.

Hi,
Thanks for your review regarding the Avent Glass Natural Response Baby Bottles. We are really pleased to hear that your little one has been enjoying the bottles for the last year! How disappointing that they tend to leak a lot of milk after a couple months, this is unusual and we hope to resolve the issue for you. We suggest to sterilize the baby bottles using a Philips Avent sterilizer or boil for 5 minutes. During sterilization with boiling water, prevent the parts from touching the side of the pot, as this can cause irreversible product deformation, defect or damage. Can you also check that the parts are correctly assembled and combined. Make sure the screw ring is tightened sufficiently on the bottle without overtightening and that you are using the nipple with the correct flow for your baby. The flow rate of milk they get from the Natural Response Nipple is linked to how enthusiastically or steadily they drink as they develop. Enthusiastic drinkers use a strong suction and compression while drinking, resulting in greater milk flow, so they usually need a lower nipple flow from the Natural Response range (such as nipple number 1 or 2) to avoid overflow. We hope these suggestions help.

Trading them

I initially loved my glass natural response baby bottles, because they allowed me to bottle feed and breastfeed with no nipple confusion. However 2 weeks into using them they started leaking. You can’t tighten the lids too much or they leak and ruin the threads on the ring, but if you don’t tighten them enough they loosen up while you’re feeding the baby and leak or spill. It is very disheartening and exhausting when you’re struggling to maintain and adequate breast milk supply. I wanted to love these bottles, but I have no confidence in them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi,
Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. We’re sorry to hear the natural response bottle has not lived up to your expectations. We understand that leaking bottles should not be something you’re worrying about. Allow us to share some troubleshooting tips. Firstly, when the bottles aren’t assembled correctly they might leak from the lid. Please make sure to follow the right instructions provided in the manual. Also, it’s possible that while cleaning the teats and the screws the wrong detergent was used. If you have any further questions, please feel free to get in touch via social media. We’re available 24/7 on Facebook and Twitter. Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website www.philips.com/support. Nice Glass Bottles

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were sent the Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle With Natural Response Nipple, 8oz to try from Stellar Product Testing Panel. My husband had been wanting to try glass bottles so this was great for us. The bottle are super easy to assemble and wash. We currently use a bottle that has two extra pieces, and when you have to wash two extra pieces for all of the bottles you use throughout the day, it adds up. So this one only having four pieces was really nice. Our little man prefers a flatter nipple top, so he wasn’t super excited to use this bottle when we gave it to him. After letting it roll around in his mouth for a little bit, he finally started to try and drink from it. The no leak nipple feature is great, especially if he’s taking a break or pulls his head away because he’s distracted, but the flow on the nipple when engaged was a little to fast for him and he still didn’t seem thrilled about the shape. The bottle itself looks really sleek and has a good weight to it. It was easy to clean and dry too. I do wonder if the numbers and writing on the bottle will rubbed off at some point though from washing and general use. Since the top of the bottle is wider, we could not fit the top attachment over it when we were trying to heat the bottle up in our bottle warmer. So that’s something to note if you have a warmer of the same type. The glass was also pretty hot after pulling it out of the warmer, so be careful when your half asleep at night warming things up. The cap is also hard to take off with one hand if you ever need to try and do it that way. Overall this is probably a really good glass bottle, but maybe just not for us.

Perfect for breastfed babies
on July 20, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Philips Avent Glass Natural Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple was just what my baby needed. Zoë took this bottle so easily. Being that it is glass and a little heavier it’s not that easy for her to keep the bottle up. But we prefer glass bottles because they are safer, easier to clean and sustainable. The bottles are very good quality and they remain crystal clear after every wash. The nipple is wide, soft, flexible and perfect for my breastfed baby! Zoë had no issue going from the breast to the bottle. Thank you to the Stellar Panel for giving me the opportunity to test out this amazing product.

Great Quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product from Stellar Review Panel in exchange for an honest review. I breastfed my first baby for 18 months and she didn’t do much bottle feeding. My second is exclusively bottle fed so I’ve tried a ton of different bottles looking for the right fit for her! She seems to really prefer the wide shape of Avent nipples. She is able to latch effectively and finds a good rhythm of swallows/pauses/breathing. Here are the pros and cons for us:
Pros: - I love that they’re glass. They feel super sturdy, are easy to clean, and are a great size. They fit into my diaper bag nicely! - The ml/oz marks on the bottle are very clear and easy to see. This is an issue I’ve had with other bottles. No squinting or having to turn on bright lights when making a bottle in the middle of the night to see the markings on the bottle! - Minimal parts. You’ve got a bottle, a twist top, and a nipple. Easy to clean and assemble. Cons: - The natural response nipples are great in theory but they’re tricky for my baby to figure out. You can see how the nipple is closed when not engaged and it opens wider when pinched/sucked. When the bottle is really full she does great and is able to get milk out. But as she continues and the milk starts to lessen, she isn’t able to take as much in. I don’t think this is a reflection of the product. Maybe more of a user error. I’m not sure if this is a problem of stamina on her end or that she hasn’t yet figured out how the nipple works. The nipple is supposed to mimic breastfeeding and since she isn’t breastfed, this mechanism might not be best for her.
Overall a great product. We are very happy with it and will continue to use it on our bottle-feeding journey!
