this usb is the worst in the history of usbs. its made of the cheapest plastic. it looks like a fake chinese usb you can buy on ali express. the older version was made of steel and looked really good. its sad to see what sandisk are doing from their famous brand.

2MB/s write speed

Specifically in a USB 2.0 port, but STILL. This is supposed to be USB v3.1, not 1.1 - which literally makes it two steps back. This is why I will no longer buy anything SanDisk, if they allow this to hit the market and CONTINUE to sell it right here on the SanDisk site.

Hello,
I am Will from SanDisk® Global Support Team. The speed of a USB Drive depends upon various factors. The interface used to connect the USB Drive to the computer may limit the speed of as well. However, in order to isolate the possibilities of the issue that you are facing we may have to perform a speed test on your USB Drive to check if it is performing within the expected specifications. SanDisk® stands behind its commitment to quality and warranty on its products. We will also check if your USB Drive is eligible for a possible replacement. I would suggest you to please contact SanDisk® support at 1-866-SANDISK and we will isolate the issue and will assist you towards a resolution.

Hello,
I am Will from SanDisk® Global Support Team. All of our products are manufactured on strong hardware platform to sustain daily usage. However, we do not recommend using any USB Drives/ Memory Cards other than the SanDisk®️ High Endurance/ MAX Endurance Memory Cards to be used with devices like Dashcams, Security/ Surveillance Devices, and In-Car Recording Devices as these devices perform constant read and write operations while recording continuous videos. Please use a SanDisk®️ High Endurance/ MAX Endurance Memory Card with a USB Memory Card Reader in your Car's USB port since these Memory Cards are specifically designed for constant Read/ Write Operations. . Please contact SanDisk® Support at 1-866-SANDISK or submit a support request at www.sandisk.com/support and we will assist you towards the best possible resolution.
Small size with a lot of storage for a reasonable price.

I bought the *previous version* of the Ultra Fit around 2016, and it started off pretty great - usually full USB 3.0 speeds for read, and a decent ~40 MB/s write. Not bad for the deal I got on the drive back then. Then, once I started putting more than 5GB of files on it (years later), its issues started showing up. Drive got very hot, and often ejected itself (Windows would do the unplug and replug sound). Move it to a USB 2.0 port, and the issues were gone, but you'd rarely beat 20MB/s writes. Now (of course after the warranty period), but after having written less than a terabyte or 2 on the drive, the drive is dying. With use on USB3 making errors and/or ejecting itself, I can only use it on USB2, but it now writes at ~6 MB/s, and I wouldn't be surprised if it makes a bunch of errors only if I had the patience to fill the whole drive. But I don't.
Great look, it was on my keychain for years and I didn't even loose the cap, but alas, the design is clearly heavily flawed, and these small drives just can't cool themselves fast enough. At least, not the SanDisk ones. I would have recommended it as a USB 2 drive, but even so, it seems like it can't even handle more than a dozen overwrites, which is woefully low for any flash tech (and this must have been TLC or better). That, or the heat killed it.
