Great first 3d pen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really enjoyed this 3d pen. It's the first one I've used and it's super easy to setup and use. It's quick to heat up and easy to feed and remove your filaments. The speed control allows you to adjust to get that precision you want for your project. The filament cools down quickly allowing you to easily create 3d objects. I can't wait to try and create other things.

Parental Supervision Required

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While this 3D pen does create some cool things, I'm actually disappointed in a few things. The age on the packaging says 12+ and my special needs child is 11. This product does get VERY hot, so you must supervise at all times. It was easy to set up and use, but because of the safety issues we didn't use as much as we would have liked to.

So Creative

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had so much fun with the myFirst 3D Pen! It definitely takes a little patience to learn, but once everyone got the hang of it, it was so much fun. Even when we had visitors over, both the kids and adults wanted to try it. The pen is lightweight comfortable to hold. It took a little time to heat up but once hot performed smoothly. It's a creative, screen free activity! We liked it!

Great for kids and beginners

3d printing anything. I wanted to purchase a 3d printer for years and this is a
great introduction to the practice. The 3d pen is very light weight and comfortable
to hold. At first, I thought it ran off of batteries, it is powered via a USB C
cable. It comes with what I assume is a 4ft USB type A to USB type C cable (I
didn’t measure the cable). I used an existing USB C cable that I use to charge
my phone and the unit powered right up.

The instructions are well written and was easy for me to follow to get
everything started up. I really appreciated the finger guards that it comes
with. I can be clumsy at time so they will come in handy. They provide 3 stencils
that you can use to make your first build but I wasn’t sure what to make for my
first attempt and looked up a few easy suggestions to test with so I can make something
small. They also give you a few stickers as well.

Using the pen is straight forward, there is a port to load
filament located at the top of the pen. There are two arrows on the side of the
pen which helps to load/unload the filament, on the opposite side there is a
slider that controls how fast the filament feeds into the pen. The LCD screen
has a + and – which is used to select the material type (PLA - heat 190°C, ABS - heat 220°C.)

It was really easy to use but I will need a lot of practice and a
steady hand for what I have in mind.

Fantastic starter pen for those new to 3d printing

It is so easy to use, my 12 year old understood immediately after explaining the directions and how to use it safely as it does get super hot. She really enjoyed making designs using the stencils and then immediately began making her own stencils to trace. Being able to swap the filament out as needed was also a breeze!
