It's difficult to say, scanning is scanning and there are many options, but the DS-50000 Color scanner works and. works with Acrobat, and fits my needs. I now own three Epson scanning devices and Epson printer. They all juts work. That's the 5 stars

Great for artists

I bought The Epson WorkForce DS-50000 for scanning original artwork. I had researched for a LONG time to find the right device that would both do a beautiful high rez scan and in large format. It is everything I hoped for. I downloaded VueScan to help with the editing which helped immensely. It worked seamlessly and immediately. I can scan and save the files in JPEG and TIFF. It is easy and quiet. Just a note. It is rather large but of course it does large format so that is to be expected. I'd highly recommend this device!

Scanning is a vital part of my work and DS-5000 simplified my operation while adding efficiency overall. I used to go even late at night to our neighborhood Kinko's just to avail with their graphic services. The wireless feature is an added bonus, considering the limited space I have at home. To top it all is the speed I get my prints, I really love the way my work was made easier!

I purchase the Epson 50,000 to scan student art work. Because I encourage the students usng mutimedia techniques to pay careful attention to the texture they create.
When I scanned their art I scanned their 11x17 at 400dpi. This captures not only true colors but the textures also. I haven't downloaded any photos to this computer but if you email me with the subject title Image textures, I'll be happy to send you a photo!

I'm an illustrator, and I'm in love with scanning entire sheets of artwork in a single scan.

Set up was super easy, it worked great right out of the box. It scans really fast. I have a small engineering office and this works great for scanning 11x17s.
