I am extremely happy with the SoundLink Flex Portable Speaker! I have used the product in a variety of settings (indoor/outdoor) and was very impressed powerful the sound is no matter where I’m listening. I love the ability to adjust the EQ in the Bose App in order to find the sound that I prefer. Connecting and switching between Bluetooth devices is quick and seamless, a welcome relief from other products I’ve used. The materials give the product a premium feel while maintaining a sense of confidence in its durability. It is small enough to transport with relative ease, especially if attaching to a bag or similar item using the built-in loop with a carabiner. One thing that I do think would be interesting would be the ability to sync the product with other speakers within the SoundLink lineup. Whether you prefer soft instrumental music, strong bass, audiobooks, podcasts or a little of everything, you will not be disappointed with this product! I look forward to using mine for a long time!

I have had this speaker for 2 weeks now. The sound quality out of a speaker that is so easy to carry with me is my favorite part of it. As a college student I spend a lot of time outside doing different things with my friends. This is the perfect speaker to bring with for adventure. Personally have taken the speaker fishing and hiking and it is so nice I can clip it to my backpack and go.

Huge sound for a small speaker

I have a different "portable" speaker from another competitor and it's not even close. The one i previously used was so much bigger and heavier, this little speaker really packs a lot into it and is so light! The sound quality is definitely Bose quality theres a richness and fullness in it. I was concerned about 360 sound but even behind the speaker it was loud with good quality. The only thing I would add is a slip case for when I throw it in a backpack, it'd be nice for it to be protected and have the charger with it. I do love the chrome/metal finish to it, but I can see that getting scratched as I bring it around.

The Soundlink Flex2 has become my little sidekick. Im all about quality sound & love to have something always playing as I go about my day. From music/podcasts to videos/tv - The Flex2 is PERFECT for anything.
Not only is in insanely portable. It emits the kind of sound quality that’ll make you think you’re listening to a stereo system. Like seriously, how did they fit all of that power into such a little rectangle? Lol On the other hand tho- with the ability to adjust the EQ settings, if you want to be quiet about your listening. YOU CAN DO THAT TOO!! Just adjust those settings to lower & you’re good to go - personal concert at your fingertips. Hahaha. For real though, I listen to music all the time while my family sleeps & I’ve never heard one complaint. The sound versatility is out of this world!
& while it is an overall fantastic device, I will say that it does seem to tip over backwards if not set down properly. Just something to note.
Overall, I give the Flex2 is a 10/10, 5 stars, 99% (docking 1% for the minor stabilization issue cuz it’s not a deterrent by any means) & a solid TWO thumbs up! It’s a solid speaker choice for anyone wanting access to great quality sounds without breaking the bank or your wrist (hahaha)

Durable and User-Friendly

The Bose SoundLink Flex, true to brand, has amazingly powerful sound for its small size and is packed with thoughtful features. This model is built for adventuring, particularly with friends. Don't let the size fool you; this is a party speaker. It can even connect with other portable Bose speakers in cases where you want more coverage.
The battery life is enough to keep your musical motivation going through a full day of travel. I was not able to charge my phone from the Flex as with its larger cousin the SoundLink Max, so don't expect it to double as a power bank if that is a priority for you. In terms of size, this is a Goldilocks speaker. It won't fit in your pants pocket (though you can carry it in the kangaroo pocket of a hoodie), and I wouldn't take it on ultra lightweight backpacking trips where every ounce counts, but it's just the right size to hang off of a pack and take camping or boating. It's also perfect for beach or pool parties where you want a solid sound system that can stand getting wet.
As someone who does a lot of outdoor adventure travel, this is the long-wearing speaker I've always wanted. While the price point makes it an investment that I would normally think twice about risking on rough trips, the Flex is durable enough to withstand rain or hard bumps, and the sound quality is worth the cost. The built-in webbing loop makes it easy to hang from a hook or carabiner, and I feel confident hanging it from a backpack without having to fret about it bumping around. The loop itself isn't replaceable but seems durable enough to last. The silicon coating can pick up dust, but it's extremely easy to clean due to the water resistance; just give it a rinse. It even floats so can survive an accidental plunge with no rescue diving required!
There is almost no learning curve but plenty of options for customization through the app. It's extremely easy to connect to devices or other speakers via Bluetooth, adjust the EQ, and set a shortcut. There aren't many buttons to learn, but you can make it yours within about five minutes of opening the box. I'm the kind of person who listens to music a lot, because it makes everything- even homework or housework- feel more epic. The Flex works for that just as well as for true, outdoor adventures. So, if you want your next excursion with friends to have an epic soundtrack, this speaker is a solid choice!

Small speaker with the perfect sound. It’s nice, light and portable. You can take it to a picnic or just play around to the house with it not be overly loud. The sound is really amazing. I look at it as a mini version of the max.

Big sound, small & light package

An excellent portable speaker that packs way more sound than you'd expect for its size. This isn't the smallest or lightest Bluetooth speaker out there, but it is small and light enough to truly be on-the-go friendly. I enjoy photography, so I'm already lugging around gear and don't want a big, heavy speaker to add to the mix. It doesn't add much to your backpack or luggage, so you'll be more tempted to bring it with you than, say, the SoundLink Max, which I also have. While the Max is demonstrably better and more powerful, the sheer size and weight makes you think twice about bringing it anywhere. The occasion must call for it. This speaker is often a no-brainer to toss in your bag. Surprisingly, it does have speakerphone support, unlike the Max, which is nice to see. Thanks to no WiFi or "smarts", battery life is also very good. It does drain faster the higher you crank the volume, so if you plan to blast it for hours on end you'll likely want a USB-C battery with you. But more likely than not, it'll cover your entire event, no problem. I used it often while on a trip for a week - mostly at lower volumes - and never actually needed to charge it. It feels well built and substantial, despite being light enough to carry with you. Overall, really exceptional audio quality. You'll be amazed at the bass it pumps out - especially if you increase it via the EQ in the Bose app. Unfortunately, there is no AUX port, nor can you do audio via USB-C. Perhaps that can be enabled via a software update, but I wouldn't count on that, so you are limited to Bluetooth connectivity. There are certainly cheaper options out there for something like this, but you'll be hard pressed to find something with this level of audio quality and portability, so the price seems justified. If you primarily care about audio quality - and don't care about price or size or weight - the Max is the way to go. But if you want any real semblance of portability, you won't be disappointed by this. I don't have the Micro to compare against it, but this is only slightly more and seems like the right call.
